This blog will account for all of my activities from first hearing about IM, to where ever it might take me. As this will be an ongoing project, my longterm aims are not clearly defined...yet.
And then there was light

OK, so I just realised the titles are a bit on the religious side… this will be the last one though, unless another fits so well!
So I am hoping you have come to this post after being drawn in by my opener, if you haven’t, welcome anyway! I wanted to just tidy up the rest of how I got to this point before I let you in on how I am getting on presently.
In May 2008, an old school friend sent me a link to the ‘thirty day challenge’. This concept opened my eyes to what might be possible with an online business. I have to admit though, because of my current employment I did not start the afore mentioned challenge, but I hope to take a few lessons away from it non the less.
I believe this same friend is a Warrior - I do not have his Warrior name as yet, but it will be in lights, or at least in bold, when I do and I am able to give him the credit he deserves for the help he has given me.
This guy introduced me to this forum, along with sites like ClickBank, 3waylinks, articlemarketer and a host of others which should help me along the way. I have not signed up to, or subscribed to all of these resources as yet, but I will do in time. The one purchase I have made, on his recommendation again, is that of Xsite Pro.
With all of this advice you might think that I would learn from my past failures. Well this is partly true. I did take my time to learn a little bit about keywords, and to research a little bit about what product to focus on, but after reading more articles, and more forum posts, what did I find out? That the niche I had chosen was one of the most competitive out there - weight loss. It was a bit too late in the day to affect what I had already done though - another domain name and hosting package was mine, and I had produced a little site based around this niche. That’s right, around, not specifically on! Old habits, I am finding, are dying hard. I will be focusing on re-doing this site with what I am learning, although at the moment it won’t even publish! More visits to the help desk I think…
Well that, in a few short paragraphs is where I am. I have not mentioned quite a few things that are driving me to make a success of this, they are things which are important to me, and maybe, if I am able to improve on what I have done in the past (which shouldn‘t be hard), I will let you know more about them.
As I mentioned, this blog is going to recount my journey from knowing nothing, to hopefully being a competent internet marketer. I am under no illusion that I can do this by myself, there are things that I simply do not know, and do not understand - yet. I will appreciate any comments you care to make, and any guidance you wish to impart will be more gratefully received that you could imagine. I hope that what I do, and what I learn could help others in the future.
I will continue with the next chapter in what I hope will be an enjoyable and exciting journey soon. In the mean time, thank you for reading, and keep up the good work you all do.
