Testing a New Niche in free download portals

This is an interesting area of the internet. There are millions of freebie seekers daily. All looking to download free software and other files. The traffic numbers are insane compared to the make money arena.
Yes, I know there are aged domains giving away free software downloads and many authority sites but rumor has it that you will still be able to get a bunch of visitors. With a simple site offering download links and your own unique content about the top downloads.
So I am starting to build a free download site just as a test to see what happens.
I know SEO and backlink building well enough to at least tackle some of the many long tails that get 3000 searches a month.
I will be posting my experience here on the blog.
