Who vouches for your guarantee?

Posted 10-24-2008 at 08:34 AM by ForumJoiner

Many times, people pay for a product because they have the 60 days money-back "guarantee". The real question is not "Do I have a satisfaction guarantee?" but "Who vouches for that guarantee?".

I see all the time posts on forums, by persons who didn't receive the merchandise as promised or not at all.

I learned from my experience some simple tips, that will save you some money next time.

1. Try to contact the seller before buying.

If you don't see any eMail / contact on the sales page, then skip the offer, even if it's the best one you've seen in your life.

2. See how fast the seller answers and how kind it answers you.
If (s)he is rude before buying, imagine how (s)he will be after that!

3. See if the seller is PayPal verified
(if (s)he sells by PayPal).

4. Don't rely solely on PayPal dispute option,
because sometimes you might lose. (I know I did)

5. Beware what comes with the program. I've seen situations when the product was worth $100, but it was given you for $37 + 1 free membership month. If you forgot to cancel after that free month (and many sellers are exploiting this), you'll be billed with $99 for an entire month. You can ask $37 back, and you'll receive them, but I bet that you'll forget about the free membership and you'll be billed, with no option to have your money back. The seller guarantees only that you'll have $37 back. However, the membership can be canceled only during the 30 days free trial period. After that, your negligence becomes just another source of easy money for the seller.
