The Death Of Article Marketing?

Posted 11-15-2008 at 08:38 AM by stma

Heya all,

I never for a moment thought I'd ever do a "death of" e-mail. Usually
these things start off with somebody trying to sell you an e-book.

Not today though (except I'll admit it's part of why I made wordpress
monthly).

It seems that Google's PR reps are finally 'suggesting' that article
directories (and seo through articles) is being devalued. That comes
as no big surprise to those that keep up to date and actually do things.

Read the whole article here:

Let's think about this a little further. Google has the ability to see
all your links on certain domains. Let's say they find 100 spun articles
all pointing to you. That's 100 crap articles.... and it's ruining their
users 'experience'. What's the easiest way to solve the problem? Ban your
site.

That doesn't mean that you should stop writing articles. It means you
need to be smarter about where you put them, their quality, etc..

I love wordpress for things like this. I keep a network of blogs that
I post them on. I use RSS to get the content elsewhere automatically, etc..

It's a great way to get links.... and promote all your sites. I made it
easy with wordpressmonthly.com -- and you can add a few free content
items with your links.

Go try something new today - or be left behind tomorrow.
