Get one site earning $1000 a month first. Best advice ever.

I read this in an ebook, and I think its very very sound advice. Get one site earning $1000 a month before you even think about doing anything else. Doing that will teach you to focus and apply everything you learn to that site. Once you earn that amount you can fine tune your efforts and begin to double your income.
I've gotten my site up to $500-$800 a month with the odd $1200-$1500 months thrown in. Now I'm looking to fine tune and create consistency.
For those who don't know, I lost my job about a month ago. The desperation kicked in and the depression, but then things turned around. I have savings for a few months, I landed a few big offline video clients and I'm feeling really confident about the future.
My goal is to get my site earning at least $1000 per month online and close to the same offline.
I have two other video/graphic design niche websites in the wings, but until I finish this first goal and establish some consistency, I'll wait on the other two.
