Article Marketing Blunders- Write Your Way To Profit Not Epic Failure

Posted 04-10-2010 at 09:50 AM by Sylvia Meier

Article marketing blunders are a common occurance. You write what you expect to be the perfect article, that will send tons of target traffic to your site and are dismayed to see that you got 3 clicks to your site. Uggh. So what went wrong? Where did you lose the traffic you should've gotten from your article?

First thing to look at is the title. Remember this is the first thing a reader sees. It's like the cover of a book. If the book is drab and none attention grabbing you're going to move onto the next book, and article marketing is no different. If the title doesn't grab the reader and entice them to click on it, then guess what? You've already lost most of your traffic power, right there, before they even got to read your article!

The next error is the first paragraph. You need to grab the reader and capture them and make them want to read more. You don't want to just generalize and write a blah opening paragraph or all the reader is going to expect is a blah article, and who wants to waste their time reading a blah article, when they could read an exciting one that is actually interesting.

So now you've gotten them into the article. What's next?

Make sure you break up the text, a wall of text is going to make them run away.

Use short sentances, easy to understand words. Remember the average reader is only reading at a grade 6-8 level. If you were to read your article to someone that age, would it make sense? If you answer is no, you're losing more potential traffic to your site.

Alright so they've made it through the article, the next key step is your resource box.

Now before you begin launching into an all about me, what I do, why you should listen to me rant, remember why the reader is there. They are there for THEM, not for you, so they want to know what's in it for them, why they should use their precious time visiting your site. They want to know and need to know that you are going to solve whatever problem brought them there. So you need a call to action, a reason for them to click on that link. Give it to them and they are yours. They have now reached your site. Don't give it to them, and they've just click the back button and are gone, forever.

Another way to avoid common article marketing mistakes it to learn how to properly use article marketing, like you can at MasterArticleMarketing.com where you can learn article marketing from those who have mastered it.
