An Unlikely Call-To-Action That Broke A 20-year-Record!

The very first page of the very first chapter of Robert Cialdini book, “YES!”, reveals a humdinger of a tactic that likely gets completely overlooked by most who read it.

Here it is, in a nutshell:

Colleen Szot, a very well known woman in the infomercial industry, shattered a 20-year-record at a home shopping channel when she changed the standard infomercial call-to-action, “Operators are waiting, please call now” to:

“If operators are busy, please call again”.

Callers imagined lines of busy operators going from one call to another without a break and concluded, “If operators are really busy, it means lots of people want this product. Therefore, it must be really good”.

Social proof is supremely powerful!

Thanks for the tip Thomas - this info can be applied to our own sales systems, and instead of talking about it, I'm off to record a new audio!

    Thanks buddy!
