Membership Guru Flops reviews here.

Posted 07-08-2010 at 08:52 AM by Tim Franklin

In a much published and promoted (by affiliates) there were two recent launches.

What I call a Guru Launch, which means that money changes hands and lists get emailed, over and over again.

I want to tell you and reveal to you my impression and my experience with two of these recent large Guru membership concept launches.

It is no secret that the membership model was and still is popular, however, in at least two very popular membership model content launches, it flopped, at least the content on one was a huge flop, and the presentation on the other even worse.

In a recent very lively discussion here on the warrior forum, there were several opinions about just using a video, and later adding an ecommerce option, sort of a timed, offer add to cart thingy.

The discussion went back and forth, between yes, the gurus are always right to sometimes the gurus can be wrong to all hail the mighty guru.

The main topic was that options should be given, because some people wanted to read text while others wanted to see the video, and most agreed that there should be options given, however apparently this one particular guru either did not know this or just thought that it was the way to go.

Moe power to em, I suspose,

So on with the review, I intentionally keep the identity of these two membership opprotunities, to myself, but if you have seen either of these you will know who I am talking about, the most important thing here is that you understand what you are looking at and what you are getting if you decide to buy it, of the two I did buy one and upgraded a second one, from the original offer.

So, the idea that these offers could be guru garbage, is just well hard to believe, but that is what I found at one of these sites, and the other one is just wordpress MU, or buddy press, for membership sites, I can show you where they bought their software, for just 189.00 and guess what that is just about 10 percent of the cost of this membership offer.

Back to the other offer, this one was slim on content, once I got into the membership area, which was using a certain Wish type product, I wont name it here, but you get the idea, the member area was a mess, with content that did not work, login loops that led back to a sales page, and so on, and on.

At this particular website, they claimed to be offering free software along with your membership but once I got inside I found out that it was just a trial offer of someone elses software!

Now, that is just plain dirty poole, in my book but hey I guess in this brave new guru world, it is free right, they just did not mention that it is free to eveyone and that they did not even own the free software.

Sort of makes you mad right?

Sure, I know I am plenty dissapointed, but on and on we go, so after I found that most of the content was just not what they said it was, including PLR content that when you open up the package on your computer plainly states, it is for personal use only and you cannot edit it or change it in any way, ( What, happened to the PLR )

It looked like it was at one point an ebook membership, and they just rebranded it as a PLR content membership, so the content was not really fresh and guess what it did not even belong to them, they were selling PLR to someone elses product.

Man, you have to just laugh, and if you knew who I was talking about you would be suprised.

But on we go, so I emailed support and let them know that I could not access the content for which I had paid, and guess what I receved no answer, seven days passed, and nothing.

Not even a peep.

So, Wow, I am now right at 100 bucks in the red on this little adventure and so far I have in my possession exactly nothing of which I was promised, the bonus items were all products that other marketers were giving away for free.

It looks like one big FAT, Scam.

But they get away with it, mostly because people do not take the time to do what I am doing to day, and that is to review what I found after paying the price to get what they said they were offering but failed to really deliver anything of value at all.

Now, I am heading off to see if I can get a refund, I am not going to hold my breath, because if this person went to all this trouble to just out right lie to me the customer, can I really expect a refund?

Not likely, Caveat emptor, buyer beware, they are waiting like snakes in the grass, and just because people promote them as Guru, does not mean they are not selling trash.
