The title of this post may seem like a lofty admiration, however the importance of learning is something that few people in this marketplace fully understand.
In a recent blog post, a member of this forum who is more important in his own mind than anyone he has ever met, started a post about how it was important to train his customers.
Customers are not yours to train, they are yours only as long as you respect them.
I took offense to this as some others did as well, what was surprising to me was that were several people that agreed over and over again with the idea that it is better to set the customer straight than to serve the customers interest.
It was amazing how many uneducated posters seem to know little or nothing about what it is like to actually make a sale.
People seem not to understand that there are nearly 17 million People out of work in just the US, the economy is tight, and every sale could make a difference between eating a pizza and eating steak and potatoes.
I love the idea that people have this mentality that they are right and the customer is wrong.
Because that means that for everyone of those "Just say no people" that means that I have an opportunity to convert that customer into my customer.
So one of the most important things you can learn is that adaption is critical to your success and that is off line or on line it matter's not a whit.
"In a though market" and folks if you are not aware of how the state of the economy has effected marketing then you are lost, you need to be standing in the food stamp line.
Make no mistake this is a tough market.
However it is not impossible, you can make a difference, by just being willing to be human.
Often a customer will ask a question that usually means they are on the fence, they could become a customer or they might not a lot depends on your attitude.
If you have an attitude of get lost you crappy customer I dont need you because I am more important in my own mind than anyone I know.
Well that is not going to ever earn you any money at all.
So if you are like that get over yourself because life is about to change for everyone and if your not willing to change, then you are the one that may end up in the food stamp line.
Just think about it...
