New Sales Technique or just bad salesmanship?

Over the last few weeks I have been working on several different premium wordpress themes, for a review website, several of these premium themes boasted about how great they were and how you should part with your hard earned money because they say it is really that good.
The thing is that some of these websites, do not offer any kind of a refund policy, all sales final, they show you some videos, they tell you how great they are, and they have testimonials that tell you how great they are, but what is disturbing is that all sales final thing.
If they are really as great as they think that they are, why do they not stand behind their product?
I really liked what I saw and the documentation was at least somewhat through, still I was not convinced, because as you know, there are 40 to 50 of these premium themes, and all of them claim they are the best.
Usually you can have a look at a product forum and you can tell if the product is really as good as they say that it is, because you can see what customers are saying.
But I found out that this company does not allow anyone to see the forum unless you have paid them.
So, the thing here is why all the secrecy, why not be open, if your product is really that good, why hide behind private forums?
I have to wonder about this style of sales, they make claims about how many clients they have and they make a lot of claims about how many happy customers they have, but what they say and what they can prove may be two different things, the cost, of the product is $250.00
So is this really how they want to sell the product they have? or is this just a big con game where they rip off unsuspecting consumers with what amounts to empty promises and eye candy.
So how do you know if they are even half as good as they think they are, well the tell all answer is that they are not based in the US and on top of that they only collect money in Euros which means that even if they just decided to rip you off with garbage and junk there is not much you could do about it.
Buyer beware, do your home work make sure that you know who you are dealing with, when a company has no phone number, has no real method of contact, will not return your emails, and will not provide any kind of real answers to questions, then you have to know that they are most likely thieves.
Beware of Wordpress premium themes companies that refuse to show you the product before asking for money.
