I guess you just never know these days, when you discuss a Joint Venture opportunity, a lot of people seem to think that anything you discuss like Intellectual property for example is fair game.
Actually its not, fair game, its not free, its not right either, but some warriors apparently feel like any conversation you have with them means that they can then take your Intellectual property and do what ever they want to do.
The thing is if you have a discussion with someone and you "share" your private information, which may include private proprietary product information, Intellectual property, ideas that might represent a substantial investment in time and energy.
The thing is when you have these discussions, a promise from the other party is not enough, even though legally when they agree, verbally and by email they are legally bound by that promise, electronic as well as verbally.
What really becomes disturbing to me is that there are people out there that will talk to you about doing a joint venture, then take your ideas and profit from them leaving you holding the preverbal bag.
Over the last few months, I have had several discussions, with some high profile Warriors and one new product was "Born" from these discussions, in one instance I did not illicit a promise to keep our conversation private and a non compete agreement.
This Warrior made Thousands of dollars, as at least part of our discussion, involved a licensing script, which this Warrior Duplicated an then profited from.
My Bad, I guess, all is fair in love and War, on the Warrior forum.
The thing is, though I just got an email back from yet another warrior and I have to say that at least he had the guts to tell me up front that he was going to copy my idea, I have to give him that much.
But the other guy just went his way took part of my idea, (which I did not tell him the entire idea just to see what he would do with it) Good thing too, because he came out with a half way baked idea, that ended up on the Black Hat forums, in minutes, of his WSO going live.
I really cant feel sorry for this Warrior either, but you know what I can do, I can give away the product that this second warrior has decided to "copy"
That is something that I can do, I can make it unprofitable for this warrior to go out and "copy" my product and try to profit, from all the time and energy that I put into creating this product.
So, watch out for a War Room Release followed quickly by a Wordpress.org release of the product, Totally Free, Wont Cost you one thin Dime…
I really do not care much about the money that I will lose by giving this product away because over all, ideas are not free they are not easily developed they cost money in your time and your energy, and time is expensive my friends never think that it is not.
Time, is something that once lost you can never get it back.
So, what ever you decide to do with your time, make sure that you put it to good use, and do not share your ideas with people you think are your friends, make sure you know who your talking to because if your not careful you might end up giving away more than just a little time you might end up creating money for someone else.
