Search Engine Optimization or SEO, is the art of structuring a Website so it shows up in the different search engines. Adding popular keywords and key phrases to a Website is a form of SEO. Millions of people use the Internet to search for information daily. Search engine optimization help websites will be one of the listings on the search engine results page.
You might be wondering how it all began. Here’s how.
SEO first began in the mid-1990s. Webmasters and content providers began optimizing sites for search engines, as the first search engines were cataloging the early Web. By that time, what webmasters wanted to do was to submit the address of a page, or URL, to the various engines which would send a “spider” to “crawl” that page, extract links to other pages from it, and return information found on the page to be indexed. The procedure includes a search engine spider downloading a page and storing it on the search engine’s own server, where a second program, known as an “indexer”, extracts various information about the page, such as the words it contains and where are they located, as well as any impact for specific words, and all links the page contains, which are then placed into a scheduler for crawling at a later date.
These early SEO process used algorithms and Meta tags.
As technology continues to improve, so is the world of SEO. SEO is a vital part of technology that will never stop growing or changing due to the demands of consumers, marketing, and the concept of e-commerce.
