I get sick of getting these spam domain phishers. Usually I get ones where they know I have a dot org, dot net domain, or dot info and they buy the dot com domain. Then they send me an email saying I can have the domain for only $500! What they do is buy these domains and try to sell them. If they can't sell them within 5 days they get a refund from the register. You may not consider that phishing but I feel it is at least spamming and annoying.

So, today I got a new domain name spam/phishing technique. Here is the email just as I got it except for my domain Xed out:

"This is a courtesy note to inform you that the domain registration
for XXXXX.COM EXPIRES IN 24 DAYS.

Because your domain name is currently registered with WILD WEST DOMAINS, INC.,
instead
of HostMonster.Com, You would need to contact WILD WEST DOMAINS, INC. to renew
your domain name before it expires.

Please note that if your domain name expires, your website, email
addresses and other important services that HostMonster.Com provides
for you WILL NO LONGER WORK PROPERLY.

If you don't wish to renew your domain name with Wild West Domains, Inc., you
can transfer
your domain to and renew it using the link below:
https://www.hostmonster.com/dm/trans...in=xxxxxxx.com

If you do not wish to continue receiving these courtesy reminders, you can
disable
them using the link below:
https://www.hostmonster.com/dm/trans...n=xxxxxxxx.com.

Thank you,

Jerks. This is definately deceptive and what I would call phishing for sure. Beware.
