You may not be familiar with Klout, which is a tool for measuring one's Social Influence. It very likely includes being considered an authority on a subject, which can be crucial to building a following of people and getting a great flow of traffic.

Klout ---
Quote:
Influence is your ability to drive action, such as sharing a picture that triggers comments and likes, or tweeting about a great restaurant and causing your followers to go try it for themselves. Social actions are a signal that friends and peers in your social networks have been influenced by your content.
The Klout social influence measurement is from 1 - 100. The "experts" on a subject often have a score of 60+, but the really influential people or brands will have scores in the high 90's.

Many internet marketers seek to become authority figures in a given subject, including being one for other internet marketers.

There are several benefits to having a high Klout score, including the following:
  • More followers - Klout encourages people to follow others that are influential within their niche.
  • Sharing of Articles - This is one of my favorite features of Klout. Klout users are encouraged to share fresh articles/content of strong influencers. So, have a high score, get your content shared across 10's of thousands more people potentially.
  • Klout Score - It is obvious that you would have a Klout score. But what isn't obvious is that a high score can be helpful in several ways, including getting hired somewhere.
So, you may be wondering what enhances your Klout score.
  1. The more social accounts you link to your Klout profile, the higher your score tends to be (up to a certain point).
  2. The more social engagements that you have, the higher your Klout score. Social engagements include ReTweets, Likes, Favorites, and sharing of your social messages or content. The most influential social media platforms seem to be Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
  3. The more social followers, the higher the score. Especially if your followers include other "influencers".
Of course, by being social active and submitting interesting, timely content to your followers, you will tend to increase your following. Also it doesn't hurt to be famous, particularly if you are a teen heartthrob or president of a country. For most of us, becoming such a figure is pretty farfetched. Instead, we can use some other methods that can give us a big boost.

The official route is to pay for some form of advertising or promotion via Facebook or Twitter.

The unofficial route is to take part in social exchanges. There are a couple social exchange sites which I’m familiar are Like4like.org and LikesTool.com. Like4like seems like the more active site currently. LikesTool is probably the most easy to understand and use. If you are going to use one, you might as well use both.

With social exchanges you will notice an almost immediate boost in your Klout score. Just keep at it and your score will keep growing, and so will your audience of followers.
