Considerations While Installing A Polycarbonate Roof
Just like sunlight can be bad for our skin and health if given exposure in excess, it also harms materials like plastics, hardwoods and fabrics. This is why when you build a greenhouse, pergola, carport, shed or any such construction, the best material you can use is polycarbonate. This is because polycarbonate is the material that can let in enough of sunlight while blocking away the harmful UV rays of the sun. It lets in around 90% of the light and blocks 100% of the harmful rays! Moreover, it is even stronger and more durable than glass, thus a very effective option. However, there are a few things to be kept in mind while installing Polycarbonate Roofing.

Facing the sun – Polycarbonate sheets have UV protection on only one side. So, before installing make sure to find out the right side that needs to face the sun. If you install the side without the protection cover, you won’t be able to reap the benefits. Remember to face the side with UV protection on the side where the sun rays fall.

Cutting – Avoid using high-speed cut-off wheels while cutting these sheets as this may cause the sheets to melt. Instead, use sharp scissors, circular saws or power saws with fine-toothed blades because polycarbonate sheets are very easy to cut.
Cleaning – Make sure you clean these sheets from time to time as dust and dirt accumulate over them. But, do so only with soap water and a soft brush. Using abrasive chemicals or harsh tools will only damage the sheets.

If you are convinced enough to have a Polycarbonate Roof installed, you can get in touch with Tuflite Polymers to provide you with the best-in-class sheets, just as it has been doing since the past 2 decades.
