Today I woke up, made myself a cup of coffee and sat down in front of my computer to check the message boards.
I probably spent a good 3 hours just reading the message boards and replying to a few posts.
Did any of that activity make me any money? Nope!
Did I learn anything in particular? Yes! I learned a bit about social media marketing from Maria Gudelis and Tina Williams. And while I was driving in my car this morning (I had a craving from a Sonic chocolate shake) I thought about all the small businesses in my town that didn't have any idea how to use social media and how powerful it can be to their marketing of their products and services.
So, I've decided to make a list of businesses in my town (by category) and see if I can find them on Facebook or Twitter. Then, if I don't find them on FB or Twitter, I will send them a letter explaining the benefits of having either a Facebook page or Twitter profile (or both) and how I can help them create those profiles for them.
Now, should I charge for this service or should I do it for free with the understanding that I can advertise my website/services on their Facebook & Twitter pages?
