Landing page and/or squeeze page?

Posted 03-11-2010 at 01:59 PM by webwriter

I've considered changing my landing page's content to a squeeze page instead. But now, I may not have to do that. I could probably create both and improve my results instead.

For help in improving my landing page's copy, I turned to a few books on that topic. I was looking for specific information and thought I found it in Jay Conrad Levinson's book, Guerrilla Marketing on the Internet (Entrepreneur Press, 2008). Although the author included a lot of familiar stuff, he suggests that landing pages and squeeze pages be used together.

In other words, sending visitors to a squeeze page first, and then if they opt in, immediately send them to a sales page? I know that this sounds pushy, but if it;s done the right way, following that strategy would allow an IM marketer to kill two birds with one stone.

I'm tempted, but first I've got to edit my landing page's content first.
