Lesson 3 - Using Free Classified Ads for Profit

Today's lesson is especially important if you don't have any
particular expertise with this technique.

Getting traffic by using classified ads is actually one of the
hardest ways to get right because it requires you to use such a
small amount of words to communicate an important point. In those
few words, you must create interest in the product in question.

Supposed experts may discourage you from using classified ads
because they themselves have never had much luck using them - not
because classified ads aren't a viable method of advertising. So how
can you use classified ads correctly to generate a considerable
amount of traffic to your affiliate product sales page?

The first step entails finding viable places to advertise. Some free
sites can work for you, but you must use them carefully. One example
of a site that receives a massive amount of traffic, but also allows
you to post classified ads for free is Craig's List, which you can
find at the following URL: http://www.craigslist.com

As long as you post classified ads in the proper section, you can
do it completely free of charge. Additionally, you can do this on
each of the Craig's List sites for the metropolitan areas in the
United States. Read the site's guide to ensure you know which
sections allow you to post a url, otherwise your ad will just get
deleted.

Again ... Craig's List is a high traffic site - you can get some
good free traffic from there if you go about it correctly!

Another place you can post free classified ads is Yahoo. You can
find this feature at the following URL:
http://classifieds.yahoo.com/. As long as your ad is on-topic, you
can post a classified ad for whatever you want.

Now, with this in mind, you will want to consider the best way to
construct your classified ad. I personally suggest creating a
headline or first line that uses psychological triggers.

Remember: with classifieds, you're not paying by the click. It's
either free or you're paying for a certain period of time or
impressions, so your goal should be to generate as many clicks as
possible, so use words like "cheap," "free," "proven," and
"shocking" to draw attention to your ad.

Once you have successfully drawn attention to your ad through the
headline, you need to seal the deal by providing viewers with a
reason to click through, provided that your affiliate product is
something they will want to buy. You can do this by explicitly
stating a quantifiable benefit in the second line of the classified
ad - and then stating a crucial feature in the third line.

So you might write Classifieds for our free eCourse - The Master Key
System - for example, like this ...

N.B. If you want to actually use the above ad, which has been found
to work very well, then you should send your visitors to the
following link ...

http://www.whitedovebooks.co.uk/bookstore-index-2.htm#{!custom affiliatecode}

NB Your ClickBank Nickname should appear after the # in the above url!

Once you have gained some experience posting ads on free classified
ad mediums, you will want to move on to major electronic publications
- we will consider how to do this effectively in a future lesson.

However, before you do this, you can easily test your ads and
calculate your conversion rates using this simple free method.

Please watch for the next lesson.

Best wishes,

Will.

I'd forgotten about Yahoo's classified ads...
thank you, now I'm glad I sorted through the Warrior Blogs.
I just posted a request for a consensus in the seo section of WF about classified ads and goolge link juice so your post headline caught my eye.

    Yahoo classifieds, that'll work!
    thanks
