In today's world of business, an online presence has become more important by the minute! I have seen and coached some of the fastest startup business (and growth in existing businesses) growth ever to be made.
A lot of this was due to how targeted you can get online. You see, most people think fishing with a net is the better way, and in some markets, it does work well. When it comes to startups, I have discovered a few secrets that separate the winners from the losers, long term!
1. Differentiation of your business/service/product is what keeps you from competing on price! Price competition is mostly for the multi million and billion dollar companies
2. Regular content, reports, consultations and a portfolio help establish your expertise and authority in the market.
3. By offering special irresistible offers, implementing referral systems and keeping things super simple to start you can effectively make doing business with you a viral (word of mouth) activity!
4. Testimonials are KEY! Doing work solely in exchange for rave reviews and referrals is a great way to jump start ANY business online or offline.
5. Use your testimonials throughout ALL of your marketing. Put them on LinkedIn, a collection of them in pdf form, on your website and on paper in a binder for face to face sales calls! This one activity is responsible for more than a 30% increase in my conversions. I have used it personally in insurance, financial services, WSOs, consulting services and even as part of my resume!
