Newbie Must Read - Several tips to watch out for before starting

Posted 12-02-2011 at 04:02 AM by William Prawira

I've just read the contest section of the warrior forum
I Challenge YOU to SPONSOR A WARRIOR in need - *CHALLENGE - 100 Warriors Sponsored*

What really amazed me is not how people helping each other out. But the number of people (esp. newbie) asking for help, and most of them even have the same problem. Money and getting traffic to the site.

Here are some points you have to take note of seriously:
  1. Keep your concentration on one thing at a time only. Don't over read everything and try to do everything at once. If you are learning about article creation, learn it well and practice it until you feel that it's perfect. Same thing goes when you are learning SEO and getting traffic to your site, try everything people suggest, and compare the result. Soon you'll find the perfect method that is doing well for you.
  2. I've read this once on this forum. I'm just passing this out. Keep the 20:80 rule in act. Spend 20% of your time writing the content, and spend the other 80% on leading people to your content. There is really no use even if your site has all the great content, but no people actually read them.
  3. Money does matter, especially when starting out. Unless you have a boatload of money, you should really consider what you are spending for. Don't buy stuff and pay for services you don't really need. If you paid for something, learn to use it to the full extend.
A simple example is that a lot of people here pay monthly for aweber, and they are not using the click and drag feature, website template, and so on. Why pay for something expensive, if you only need something simple. There are a lot other services with much cheaper fee.
Remember that those successful IM-ers also started their career the same way as all of us started ours. If they can do it, why can't we?
