Going on a site building spree
Posted 04-07-2009 at 11:25 AM by Zeus66
I'm embarking on a site building spree. Springtime, and a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of... virtual real estate empire building. HA!
The Goal: 100 new sites in 6 months
The How: A fellow Warrior has a PLR site membership that offers 31 sites/month. I've never tried this type of site building/marketing before, so what the heck.
The What: I've got the pieces in place from past site building: hosting with unlimited domains for about $10/month from HostGator; Angela Edwards' terrific WSO - backlinks packets for $5/month (what a steal!); doing keyword research using my fav tool - Micro Niche Finder; writing some articles and submitting to EZA; social bookmarking and some blog posting.
The When: Well, starting now, but specifically 5 sites per week for the next 20 weeks or so. I figure I'll have a few weeks in there where I'll get sidetracked (damn you, real life), so we'll call it a 6-month Plan.
Monetization: I'll be using AdSense, Ebay, Amazon, Clickbank... the usual suspects. Pretty much 100% affiliate income streams.
I toyed with the idea of full disclosure and listing each of my new sites as they go up on this here blog, but I nixed it. I do research for me, not for leechers. Most Warriors are fine, upstanding folks. But anyone can join and we all know there are jerks among us. So I'll just post occasional updates here as things progress. Maybe a screenshot or two of actual earnings and some things I learn along the way.
Wish me luck!

Cool idea. If you have the time and the ability, go for it. Could be a news worthy story when all is said and done. That could get the word out. Tap into the PR scene.Posted 04-07-2009 at 12:28 PM by jumbopanda

Hi Chris,
No, I'm gonna do it all myself. It's ambitious and it might take longer than 6 months, but I figure it's good to set a goal that's hard to achieve. And I'm trying to pick niches with higher paying ad clicks and affiliate commissions, but that's tough to predict sometimes. I guess I'm going more for wide and shallow as opposed to what I always did in the past, which was thin and deep. I always wanted to try this numbers approach. If it flops, hey, I'll still have 100 sites. I can probably sell them off if nothing else. Have a good Easter. Are you guys gonna rock the church?

Well, I would've rocked the church if I hadn't been out of town to see my mom. That's a mistake I won't make again any time soon!
I was curious about what you were going to do with backlinking since I've come across a few WSOs recently that are offering that service for a pretty low price. Was just curious if you were going to use any of them.Posted 04-13-2009 at 10:43 AM by Chris Hunter
