It kind of depends on what you're looking for but you can check Alibaba Manufacturers, Suppliers, Exporters & Importers from the world's largest online B2B marketplace-Alibaba.com for suppliers and Worldwide Brands for drop shipping.

Alibaba is a bit risky if you're not careful.

Check out DHGate and check out the reps of the suppliers or dropshippers before you buy. Those reputable suppliers or dropshippers from alibaba can be scammers.

DHGate is much safer and don't forgot to check payment methods. Paypal or escrow to be safe.

You have to buy in bulk from worldwide brands, correct? Also, how reliable is alibaba or dhgate? Noticed that most items come from china, so how would one know that these aren't knock off's? Any other methods of gaining a list of reliable U.S. drop shippers, without going through a doba or salewoo?

You don't buy anything from WWB, they just provide a list of "legit" (that can be argued) wholesalers that you can contact and set accts up with.

Salehoo is about the same. DK about the others.

Finding wholesalers or distributors through Google is a joke - bunch of scammers and middlemen.

Find a product (after you have researched it to make sure it will sell online) you want to sell, contact the manufacturer and tell them you want to sell their product and they will direct you to their wholesaler or distributor - then you ask them if the drop ship, etc. LOT of work, but the right way to do it.

Yes, alibaba and DHgate are mostly scammy fake type products. YOu need to be careful.

King media is correct, that is the best way to do it, cut out the scammy middle men and do things properly.

You can just approach wholesalers one by one and ask if they will dropship for you. You might be surprised how many will do that.

All I will say is that I once researched on dropshippers and was baffled by how many scammers there are. A lot of websites and forums are built by these scammers and the majority of reviews are fake.

As far as i got, finding a reputable list of dropshippers is very difficult and highly valuable. The guys using quality dropshippers will not give out the names of their dropshippers.

anyone know where I can find dropshippers of ADULT toys? I have googled a few, and then googled (name of company-reviews), but haven't found any reviews (unless I'm not 'googling' correctly).

thanx in advance - I realize this topic may not be comfortable for some.

I think you can visit the wholesaleforum.com (ah another WF!). Theyhave tons of infos and I once searched google for suppliers for a product, while exploring other business opportunities. There are some highly knowledgeable people there that may have more answers than I do

You should check out worldwidebrands. The cost is high, but it's worth it. Especially if you want to sell in demand products on your website that have conversion rates higher than on Ebay.

You can check out aliexpress (it's the secure escrow shopping site part of alibaba.com). There's a number of wholesalers/manufacturers that will dropship.

hi all

i and a friend created a website with 1 dropshipper who had has 75,000 products in 1 site and we just resold them.

the prices were near amazon listing sales that were sold by other providers on amazon.

we initially used magento which we installed from scratch but then later we found that there was a pre configured amazon server image which allowed u to just start the server and then it would have a prebuilt magento install ready for you just to start.

if any of you want to know more just pm me or email me at ceo@meganetwork.in or skype at topsecrectcloud

bye

I have used Worldwide brands in the past with some good results. They provide an updated list of wholesalers/drop-shippers that you can contact and open account with them. There is a one time feed only (I got my subscription over 8 years ago so I don't remember how much it was).

Worth checking

Worth checking
I recently paid WWB and it was about $300. So far I have contacted two suppliers through the WWB messaging system and been accepted right away as a drop ship retailer. One is a well-known retail brand. It appears to me that these manufacturer's/wholesalers are beginning to recognize the value of IM and are set up for dropshippers, even if they have formerly had traditional supply chains. In both cases they only sell to retailers, won't sell direct.

Hi skylang,

do you think WWB is good for EU retailers?

I think it's mostly North American. WWB staff maintains contact with potential suppliers and visits trade shows, and I think their staff is all out of the west coast of America.

Any thoughts on this supplyer after checking out?

Im pretty new in this. Ive managed to do some business on Alibaba and so far so good. No problem so far however I would probably be better going with drop shipping over buying stuff in bulk and doing all the handling and shipping by myself

Im mostly selling on ebay , however I'm about to launch two ecommerce websites (2 diffrent niches) and i'm so much stuck at deciding which theme to use with the Woocommerce plugin.. Toooooo many choices.

Well, I've looked over the products and nothing excites me yet. I don't want to sell junk, so I'm still looking around.

You should look into Sky High Auctions its a very good drop shipping guide. If you have the experience of selling online I suggest Worldwide Brands I had great success with it.

Whatever you decide, you should NEVER have to pay for wholesale or dropship lists, and the companies that charge you for scraping information from Google are scamming money for old rope.

There are no 'secret sources' and all of them can be found with some intelligent searches.

^^^^^^^
This is most likely the best advice, unless of course someone wants to divulge their dropshipping sources.

I bought Sam England's "Dropshipping University" and he goes into detail on how to find dropshippers without buying these lists.

Why on earth shouldn't you pay for lists if someone has spent considerable time and work to assemble and confirm them? It's the scrapers that are doing what you could do yourself, but if a directory owner sends staff to trade shows to meet the industry, spends time in person or on the phone with companies before putting them on the directory, and keeps contact with them afterwards to make sure they still meet the directory's criteria, then why shouldn't they charge for their services? The old adage "you get what you pay for" still applies here.

Perhaps it's because people look at the "service" with the same skepticism that you should have with buying a "Paid Survey" list, which is mostly garbage listings and doesn't result in actually making any money for the purchaser.

While there may be great lists around, I'm sure there are plenty of garbage lists and no real way of knowing which is which until you've burned some moola.

Exactly. You're unfortunately right. Thankfully, if there is one good free source of information available on the net, and that's reviews of things available for $$$. Type in the name of whatever list you're interesed in and add the word "review" and you'll get feedback from users, once you filter out the self-promoting posts made by list owners themselves.

As far as Drop shipping is concerned in my opinion you have three options:

worldwide brands are a reliable source but there is a fee connected to membership services, I paid 299.99 if I can remember correctly.

You can also try Thomas Register which is a great source for acquiring manufacturers.

Or also what I did was take a look at some of my top competitors and who they utilized as far as manufacturers, then in turn reached out to some of them and negotiated drop shipping terms which worked out great for me as well.

Hope this information helps

Take all drop ship and wholesale lists with a grain of salt. Use these lists as a starting point but do not fully rely on them. Once a niche or drop shipper interests you, research that drop shipper. Go to their website, study their business, see the amount of traffic they are getting. Try to contact them via phone and ask questions. Try to scope the business as best as you can. Before you do business with a dropshipper you want to make sure that there are other users such as yourself running a sustained business model around that drop shipper.

May drop ship outfits are just smoke and mirrors. Many of them do not realize how technically and logistically demanding drop shipping really is. When pretenders (drop shippers) start to get volume they crack and ultimately many give up or try to 'raise their drop ship fees' to offset the pain of a tough business model. Due diligence is your responsibility so be sure to always do that. Also understand that there no "magical" list of drop shippers that exists on the web. If you take lists like that or someone is selling you such a list, then you're on the wrong track.

A major advantage (always) is to look for drop shippers in your city, or local area. That way you can form a personal relationship and truly check if they are legitimate or not.

Be mindful of the above and that'd be a good start.
