Home Repair and Paint Guide

Sold

This blog focuses on general home repair and maintenance. There are 34 fully researched unique posts. Each post is keyword enhanced by title and tags and yields about 178 pages indexed in Google.

Content was added slowly over several months so indexing would proceed at the correct pace for this type of site.

Tag and Category pages are shown by using snips from each post. These snips are made unique by our WordPress plugin to avoid the duplicate content issue. That's the reason 34 posts can yield 178 indexed pages.

All themes have been SEO enhanced and the AdSense blocks are embedded directly within and after a post. Only full post pages contain ads. All other pages act as traffic collectors to move flow into the posts.

Traffic is low at this point due to the young age of the site, and also because no backlink campaign has been performed. The idea was to allow time for content to be fully indexed and then start promoting the site.

That's odd - we cannot reproduce the 403s from any of our systems. Tried Firefox, IE7, and IE8. Server log shows 1 403 within the past 24 hours. Went ahead and updated both links in the post to use absolute URLs instead of relative. We have started a monitoring task to watch for any further problems. Thank you for pointing this out - we really appreciate the heads-up!

It's not clear to me, about the additional domains I can point to the hosting, for my blogs. Would these be add-on domains? And the account would be set up for the domain you are offering here, fixandpaintguide.com?

The blog creation feature seems like a great time-saver.

Also, how about posting a BIN, or posting the best offer you've received so far so we can go from there?

Elliott,

Thanks for writing. Basically, new domains would be set up at your current registrar with a fixed IP address that points to our blogging platform. Then you would use the domain mapping feature that is available to every blog in your account to "point" the domains to the correct blogs. Here's a screenshot of the WordPress control panel for fixandpaintguide.com:

And here is the domain mapping screen. All you have to do is enter the domain name in the box as indicated and click "Add". That's it! You can create a bunch of blogs in the same account and follow this procedure to assign domains to each one. You can also use subdomains the same way. You don't have to add the domain names to our hosting system. Just define them at your registrar and use the IP address we provide. Our blogging platform takes care of the rest.

So far this hosting sounds like a WP hater's (which I am) dream!

I despise the ever-increasing complexity of WP and the endless learning curve and keeping up with all the mutations, updates, and permutations. WP is a "time pit" as far as I'm concerned. There are far too many themes and plug-ins available, they don't all work together easily, and I just don't have the time to learn to make it do what I want it to do.

And you know what? There are plenty of folks selling WP based sites, or selling WP set-up services, who then don't know how to fix the little glitches that come up, or don't know how to do a little customization that I would like to see.

Your platform seems to offer the best of both worlds - getting a decent site up quickly, which yet offers the possibilty of customizing and elaborating it as a person learns at their own pace.

So, apparently these sites can also be easily exported.... as in flip! flip! flip! flip!

Well, those are some bullet points you can use.....

The site is young and we have not performed any type of promotion as of this time. Traffic is starting to increase on its own and a small amount of revenue is just beginning to show. A backlink campaign along with some promotion should help a lot.
