Beware, WebAutomated is a scammer.

I purchased his movie website, exactly the same under different domain.
Here are the facts you need to know:

***He postes fake screenshots of fake traffic statistics, makes false claims about site being established, activity, etc.

***He sells the same website over and over under dfferent domains all over the place, ebay, dp, flippa, etc. (would be ok if he mentioned this in his ad, it's something a buyer should know) , some examples:
moviebolt.com
YourMoviePilot.com
passion4films.com
comingsoonpreviews.com
headlinemovies.com
openingmovies.com
MovieInform.com
Movie-Delivery.com
Movies-Rule.com

***His website uses old scripts with old wordpress, full of errors and data mismatch.

***The website is against IMDb policy of use, when IMDb finds out about the website - I already notified them - they will take action to shut it down, so it's just a matter of time before the website will have to remove their links and copied data.

Don't believe any WebAutomated claims, including his BS talk about the site being legal and using factual data.
IMDb policy states cleary:
"IMDb grants you a limited license to access and make personal use of this site and not to download (other than page caching) or modify it, or any portion of it, except with express written consent of IMDb.
This site or any portion of this site may not be reproduced, duplicated, copied, sold, resold, visited, or otherwise exploited for any commercial purpose without express written consent of IMDb"

"Robots and Screen Scraping: You may not use data mining, robots, screen scraping, or similar data gathering and extraction tools on this site, except with our express written permission... "

***He accepts only PayPal because PayPal doesn't give buyers any protection for intantgible items (digital goods). So you will not recover your money by filing PayPal claim, you will need to take legal action against him directly to recover your money. That's what's I'm doing, legal action is currently underway against him for fraud.

He defrauding me by presenting me with fake traffic data, misrepresenting the item sold, misinforming about legality of the website. Provided me with false information to get my money. Sold me a website that was violating policies of IMDB, website that IMDB will not allow to operate.

***He uses shill bidding, fake accounts to comment on his own sales, prising his website and artificially rising bids. This is the only point I can't prove 100%, but I suspect it if you look at his sales history here and other places flippa and DP. The pattern in rather obvious.

***He will delete the sales ad page once the site is sold. This way getting rid of evidence and lies he put in his sales page, also it helps him hide from search engines his sale history.

***If you buy the site from him, you can expect to receive Cease and Desist letter from IMDb.

His excuses: "but there are thouands of sites like this out there and IMDB did not closed them".
That's because they don't monitor the entire internet, they send Cease and Desist letter when they find it.

Anoter excuse: "data is factual..."
yes but IMDb policy cleary states that it's not allowing to use scripts to get it from their website, prohibited use, when they find out they send C&D letter from their legal department, you comply or they sue.

People need to know this before they lose their money.

Was stealing $695 from me worth it for you yet ? Did it pay off so far ?
Legal case is underway, I'm not wasting my time, believe me.

seriously, you saved alot of people from investing in this
guy. Your kind for letting alot of people know about this.

Hopefully, you can learn from your experience and buy
websites via Escrow only for far better protection.

I'm thinking about buying a website, and this was very
helpful in writing down a list of "things to look out for"
when buying website businesses.

It's sad how one angry customer can ruin your business and he is willing to go to extreme lengths just because he is not happy with what he got and you haven't refunded his money. You've said I lot of things but no traffic stats are fake or any other information disclosed in this listing.

I speak only the truth and I have the evidence to back it up.

WebAutomated is a scammer because he lies about the product he is selling, not telling the truth and not disclosing important information.
He keeps lying in his responses and even tried to impersonate legal adviser by email to me, with some fake name and address that turned out to be some travel bureau in NJ, so everything about him is a lie.

Traffic stats were fake and he knows it, later by email he tried to explain that the traffic stats were from similar website to show potential, but his ad, the ad he deleted already to hide the truth, that's not what he stated. I did save the ad and I recorded it on video camera so everything is on the record, the same with actual server logs for comparison.
Fake traffic stats are just one issue and it's not even very important one.
The other issues are about compliance of the website with IMDB policies and not being able to run the site legally, everything about it is against IMDB policy and prohibited, so it can not be used for a legitimate business, has to be shut down as soon as IMDB finds out and sends cease and desist letter from their legal department.

I'm a customer who was cheated, provided with false information by the seller and important information was not disclosed by the seller. What he did fits the definition of FRAUD.

Well i dont know about this guy scamming but i can confirm that this exact site has been sold over and over again..

It is a plugin for wordpress and it is very buggy and like stated above not compliant with imdb TOS..

And on another note, i am sure that there would be an issue with duplicate content, since i saw i would say double figures of this same site sold over and over..

I have never said the site is unique however it is custom and a lot more than most movie sites offer. After all this talk I have nothing left to do but to close the thread.
