I just can't understand the idea of getting a pre-made blog. Please explain how it works.

I have a domain that may fit the golf theme....
my question is regarding the store setup....
how does that work? Am I able to hand
pick the items I want in the store?

and if the store pulls content from amazon,
then would this not be duplicate content?
Would this not affect the quality of the site?

and would golf be hard to break into?
I would think it would be competitive....
