What I'm missing ?
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hello Everyone!

I have started forum related to technology and mobile phone related discussion. I am offering some cash prizes to newly register users on posting valuable Information / Threads / Posts because my forum is on very initial stage and I want some natural contents on forum.

I am getting decent amount of users which are subscribing my forum but I am not getting new and natural content from registered users.

I NEED your help and guidelines that how can I convert newly registered users to drop some natural contents or topics, threads, posts?

My modified landing page for user registration is here

Thanks.

Well the ads are not really necessary.

Make the registration page more user friendly and have the registration details right on the same page. If I click to register, I don't intend on making several clicks just to fill out my details.

With regards to user engagement, encourage popular topics etc in your follow up emails. Check your emails for the Warrior Forum and see how they do it which will help you to get an idea of how it can help re-engaging users back to the forum.

Register to some preferably related forums and see what they do to engage users -> see what content they put in the emails, what promotions they offer, how often they send and so on.

My suggestion would be to let first time visitors see the forum topics before you ask them to register for a blind opportunity.

Greetings,

As an Adwords Professional, my suggestions would be as follows for your site.

1) Putting too much ads, will put a negative impact towards your site, the idea here is not to put maximum ads and make money, rather it should be to bring quality traffic, and make much, even with a single and a smaller ad.

2) Put a timer, this will create urge factor in the user mind, to take an action.

3) Offer something special, on certain achievements, such as Elite member, gold member and offer them various benefits, such as Big Pm box size, signature control, posting in specific forums, and then have some special forums, only for exclusive members.

4) Also, have something like, contest for most discussed threads, or participant of the week (elected by forum members themselves or something like this).

5) Also, if u can introduce something like point based system, like you will get paid xx points for posting a thread/comment, and with those xx points you can buy several privileges in the forum.

Good luck!
