I was wondering what are the best ways you have found to increase sign ups on your website?

Here are some that I have found:

- I use very basic Wordpress theme with white background, grey serif font and red hyperlinks. Consistently outperforms "prettier' variations.

- Contextual affiliate links: Instead of saying "Click Here to Check Out This Amazing Product", I say "World renowned horticulturalist <a href=" Affiliate link "> Daphne Daniels</a> suggests watering your plants every 3 days instead of every 4. That way, your leaves will be greener and flowers will last longer."

You have to know your demographics / interest to make a custom LP
If your traffic are meatheads, a dark colored theme, with a muscle man (Clothed, unless your LP is about fitness) as a background should do the trick.
If you're demographic are mothers, so a background of a mother holding her son and smiling in a forest, could push her to put her email without thinking

Hear, hear! Bit of user testing/visitor feedback/competitor analysis will start to identify some of the areas you could look to test. Be wary of the "best practice" stuff because each site - and therefore its visitors - is different so what works for one might not work for another.

It's time consuming, but so worth it.

Don't know if it's "ingenious", but usually the headline(and the offer) is the most important factor.
Once you're done with that, then work on other things. You can't raise your Conv. rate with a button, if nobody will read past the headline. I tried that!
