Is my website ready for promotion?
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I would be happy if you guys could give me some feedback on my affiliate website. I think the clothing fashion niche is too hard to rank in Google so when I feel that my website is ready for promotion I will promote it through social media.

A lot more products will be added to the website in the near future, but is there a chance to attract customers to this website with the current setup? I feel like the customers rather could browse Amazon directly instead of Neatstyling, which of course is a bad sign. But personally I don't enjoy browsing Amazon since it is very clustered.

What do you guys think?

The site as it stands is short of worthless. you can probably get some sales thru social by developing a hell of a following and offering a piece of clothing here and there, but overall your chances of success I hate to say is slim and none.

You are not offering anything... as in nothing. here is a picture.. buy now. do you buy online that way?

You need to separate yourself and your site from the rest. WHY would I buy that item from your site? lets look at this one: Burnout Pullover Blend Hood | Neatstyling HOW are you convincing me to buy that? - I will tell you, you are NOT convincing me at all... The only thing as a shopper you are convincing me of is it was a wasted click on my part to go and look.

I will assume you are twenty something.. and maybe a bit younger. you love fashion. Start thinking in terms of your fashion style and sense. WHERE would you wear that? WHAT would you wear with it? WHO are you going to be around when wearing it? WHEN would you wear it? and WHY would you wear it? and then HOW would you wear it?

The above 5 "W's" and an "H" are my basic rules for marketing. Who What Where When Why and How. You start answering these questions for you readers and they will take interest in the product you are selling.

So lets answer some of the questions real quick.

  • Where would you wear it? Add a splash of color when hanging out at the mall or taking a stroll on the beach.
  • What would you where with it? A great addition to your favorite pair of jeans or that "baggy" factor to pair with a simple black leggings.
  • Who are you going to be around? Hanging out with friends, or staying cozy at warm with family this colorful hooded sweat shirt....
  • When to wear it? A quick pullover on that chilly morning, or a splash of cheer and color on a casual night out.
  • Why? Stay warm and bring color to your already colorful personality.
  • How? Paired with leggings or your favorite jeans, or layered under your toasty winter coat, this is a great addition of color to any wardrobe.
In CRO the above is the extended example of what a USP is. USP = Unique Selling Perspective. What separates you from everyone else selling the same product, Amazon included. Your current USP is "Let us get you dressed" You simply need to follow through with that.

Start looking at Amazon as a dream closet. write articles laying out outfits from head to toe. these boots, these pants, this t-shirt, with this layered thing... THAT is the kind of stuff that people want. From THAT, people will say oh that piece is cute, and click over and buy it. and then with a nice description on the product page they will be further inclined to buy.

Hope that Helps!

PS. I really do like your overall design. Nice and clean. well laid out. YOU DO have a great base to start with. just need to get the content level up.

You're right about me being in my 20's but I am not interested in fashion whatsoever. I just picked that topic because I feel like there are many people who are willing to purchase clothes online. I feel that my english skills are lacking too much for me to be able to write articles well. I don't know about making articles that concentrate on complete outfits because I don't know what clothes goes well with other clothes, and the best way to present the outfit would be to have a picture of a person wearing it which will be hard because I am a man and I am far from photogenic.

Maybe I should focus on selling weird / funny products such as costumes, like those: Maskeraddräkter för vuxna och barn - Partykungen.se

Also I'm unsure about the whole Amazon affiliate concept. I get a more serious impression of the website if I would stay on the website during the purchase. I think it feels weird if I would be choosing a few products to buy on one website, and when I am about to pay for the products I would be redirected to Amazon in order to make the payment.

Ok well it all is starting to make sense... you don't have passion for it, and it shows. So costumes is more your thing? That's GREAT. I personally have some sites that go in that direction. most of them are a bit seasonal, But I do enjoy working on them.

The same principles apply. you need to basically answer the questions. just framing it around say Halloween or a masquerade party etc.

In terms of the shopping cart issue. I have the same thoughts you do on the subject. You will want to look at the prosociate plugin for word press. it does exactly what you are wanting. a small amount of a learning curve, but well worth the expense of the plugin and the time learning to use it!

Hope that Helps!

My first impression - The website means nothing to me. It tells me nothing when I get to the home page. There is nothing to keep me interested. IMO

The general IM model says to capture lead information (email adress to build a list.) I do not see that.

Savidge4 offers some detailed advice. I hope it helps. Best wishes.

Your main objective is to get people to amazon right?

So get rid of those empty "leave a review" fields at the bottom of every product page and instead, put a button there that says "read reviews" that lead to Amazon's page so they can read reviews from there.

Also, instead of a "Buy" button, which people will only click if they want to buy, change it to "learn more". I'm sure your ctr will increase drastically.

After seeing your website, I am like something is missing, seriously, it didn't attract me at all. You have to do something to make it more attractive. Social media or affiliate marketing can help you promote your website.
