Landing / Home Page Question
Share on:

I work with Booty Bin and their main homepage/landing page is: BootyBin.com ....what do you see that could increase sales conversions? Site gets alot of traffic but conversions could be higher.

Constructive criticism welcomed.

The absolute first thing I would test is the pricing. $49+ $6 Vs. $54.95 Free Shipping.

So looking at your CTA. you have I think 3 in total. We could make a game out of this.. where are the 3 CTA's? So you have the one on the Menu bar ( I really don't consider this to be one.. but hey ) next we have the nice big red button "Buy Now" and then.. being all sneaky sneaky you have the credit card images ( I wouldn't consider this to be a CTA either.. but again, its gets to the page. )

I would introduce another solid CTA at the bottom of the page.

So the question becomes this. how many people are going from your main page to your checkout page? and then how many are getting to your checkout page and not doing anything?

I will assume your traffic is Social oriented and the like? so of the 100% traffic getting to your lander.. you REALLY should be able to get AT LEAST 20% on to the checkout page. and then 10%+ I would bet should be buying. Even at those numbers you are looking at an overall conversion rate of 2% which in my book aint that good...

It really has a lot to do with the quality of the traffic and the motivation they have to getting there.

I'd make an A/B test without the main menu. You already have the big red "buy now" button, and people who want to contact you or who want to become affiliates, could definitely find those links in the footer also...no need for them to take up that prime real estate and detour visitors from the funnel.

Also "elite geek + gamer mystery box" is quite ambiguous for me and does not make me want to buy the product. You can replace it with something more benefit-oriented.

I'd also add some testimonials besides the unboxing video and another call to action button at the bottom of the page.

I would A/B test removing the Facebook share button (or move it to the bottom of the page). Also test removing the tag line: Elite Geek...

Then I would tweak the value proposition. And make sure the visitors understand the value they're getting before getting to the price.

Hope this helps.

Not so sure the "Geek" thing is something to be touched.... again where is the traffic coming from? how is the bait worded to get them to the page? We are only looking at half of the story... As directed as this page is.. I would want to think it is on target with the front end of the funnel.

Part of the job of a page is not to please everyone.. but to separate and segment those of interest away from those that would not be of interested. pre-qualification if you will.

Where the Facebook like button is at top right,
replace it with a toll free phone number.

It makes it look more legitimate and
feedback you get can make profitable changes
to the website.

Change Buy Now on the button to positive words a buyer would use,
like "Got my booty", "booty sorted", "booty grabbed", "Yep, it's mine".

The deep physiological reason against Buy Now, is it's a directive.

From childhood to authority to work bosses, most have some degree of
resistance to being told what to do.

This website is where they can escape that tyranny.

Best,
Doctor E. Vile
