Text squeeze page vs video squeeze page?
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I am trying to figure out if I should create a squeeze page with a short 1 minute video or a standard one with a few bullet points of text. I realize testing is the best way but I don't want to spend the time and/ or money creating something I don't need, so I just wanted to get a general idea of what people are using successfully.

What has worked for me is text-based squeeze page. Keep it short and simple, but with curiosity.

Additionally, your thank you page (page that shows right after they opt-in) could be a short video promoting content or a product. Hope that helps.

I think the logic here is what fails most. "I just want what will work!" And seriously the answer is you simply do not know until you test. The "General idea" is that I use both and then some. I also use long text. I use long text with a video. I use JUST a video... It depends on what works best.

You are worrying about a little time up front when there is realistically the possibility that the other option could produce 2x the income. So now you are not "Marketing" you are playing Russian Roulette. Good luck with that.

I agree with Savidge. You really need to test it. Sometimes videos work better, sometimes text works better. Sometimes long copy/video sometimes short.

Unfortunately it really depends on your product, your offer, traffic sources, customer base, etc.

I highly recommend spending the $/time testing it. There are of course best practices, but unfortunately this is one of those deals you will just have to play with. My personal experience has seen both situations win.

Probably not the answer you wanted, but hopefully you found some value from it.

I've done conversion work for many big companies such as Expedia, The Boston Globe, Kobo Books, Firestone and more...

I agree with the above posts. there is no shortcut. you could create a version of each and then test them head on. Then stick with the one that gets higher opt ins and optimize it

I agree with the last 3 people. The reason you can't just go with what everyone else is doing is because it varies niche to niche and product to product. You have to do the testing. You could setup the exact same thing someone else is converting and it bomb. The traffic can vary, the niche, the product, etc. No easy way out. If it didn't take work everyone would be successful.

Video usually engages people much easier. That said, I think the optimal setup is a video and text.

Star dust is the winner. All you other people that just regurgitate what others are saying and try to put a person down, thanks but no thanks. I have 3 jobs and I work 16 hour days. I am not one of these idiots on this forum that thinks you can be lazy and turn $25 into a million. I completely understand testing is the only way but i wanted a general consensus.

Statistics say video on landing page gives more engagement to visitor rather than text.A video in landing increase conversion rate. 87% of online marketers use videos in one way or another to promote their business. video on landing page increase the time of your audiences, there is lots of case study over the internet why video is better on landing page than text and please keep in mind use your video on landing page up to the fold, don't put your video alone on the iceland,

Just split test it because every niches, products and traffic source are different.
