How many page visits until you say the page doesn't convert?
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I have a landing page that sends people to a product on clickbank. It's set up like a review page. I've been driving traffic to it for about 3 days now and have about 150 visits but 0 conversions on clickbank.

What I want to know is how many page visits do you let your site get to before you deem it unprofitable and start making changes?

My landing page is here: https://areyouinfertile.leadpages.co/pregnancy-1/

That's not the URL that the user sees, it's a lot cleaner and more professional so that's not an issue.

feel free to leave feedback.

Conversion rate depends on several factors:
1. Quality of traffic. Is your trafic relevant and users want to buy your product? (For this reason it's better to describe a source of traffic acquisition)
2. Your offers. Is it better than your competitors provide? Many users open several tabs and choose the most interesting offer or Google the product name and compare your offer with competitors
3. The quality of Landing page. Is it clear offer and is stimulate a user buy a product?

When I test a niche I pay attention on all these factors. The main point of all activity is to get a profit. For this reason, I can get 10 000 visits from some bullshit ads system and pay for it just $20, get 1 conversion, that will bring me $25 commission. In this case, my conversion rate will be less than 0.001% Other way: I use high targeting campain in Adwords and get 100 visitors, 3 conversions ($75 income), but paid for them $100.
Here my conversion rate 3% but I get negative income.

General: average conv. rate in Ecomerce 2%. You can use this metrics in your activites)

Thanks for the reply, I don't think cheap untargeted traffic would convert at all since my niche specifically targets women that are having trouble getting pregnant.

I drove that traffic using Facebook ads, but paused the campaign at 155 clicks because I wasn't sure if the page was converting or not.

Well, conversion validation is usually done with 1000 unique visitors.

This is a good round number that is statistically significant. However, it depends from case to case, especially based on the nature of that traffic. What I can tell you is that sending 50 or 100 people to your landing page won't tell you anything accurate about the performance you're getting.

I've read your sales page.

I find it a bit weird. You're talking about something emotional, something that brings a lot of frustration and pain in very superficial terms.

I don't know any woman who tries to get pregnant and she can't.

However, as a conversion specialist, I know that she wonders what is wrong with her. She wonders if it is her husband's fault and if that is the case - what will she pick, her dream of having a family, two beautiful girls or her husband who can't make this happen?

She's looking far away into the future when she'll be old and she'll have no kids to visit her because she can't conceive now. She's considering adoption but wonders "Will we love this kid as much as it was ours or not?" or "Will my husband still love me if we adopt, knowing that it is not his? Will he treat him as ours?".

She's a bit stressed about this because there is no right answer.

No kids - she'll never fulfill her life script.
Adoption - she's uncertain about what's going to happen.
Finding another man that doesn't have problems in that department - huge risk and she'll feel like a selfish bitch.

The emotional dimension to this niche is huge and yet, I feel like you're selling me an old Ford Pinto. And if I feel this as (1) a male (2) not having a wife that has this problem, then I wonder what is your market feeling.

Best regards,
Razvan

honestly theres 1million free blogs/discussions/doctor reports/videos and so on for your niche. I just dont see how its gonna be even worth running that product.
if someone gonna pay to try to get pregnant they would just go to the doctor

Conversion Rate and How to Calculate It

Once you have defined what conversions you want to track, you can calculate the conversion rate. For the purposes of the following example, lets call a conversion a sale.
Even if you are still in the dark ages without a viable website, as long as you are tracking the number of leads you get and the number of resulting sales (conversions), you can calculate your conversion rate like so

Conversion Rate = Total Number of Sales / Number of Leads * 100

Example: Lets say you made 20 sales last year and you had 100 inquiries/ leads. Your sales to lead conversion rate would be 20%.

If you're tracking conversions from website leads, your formula looks like so:

Conversion Rate = Total Number of Sales / Number of Unique Visitors * 100

Example: If you made 20 sales in a month and you had 2,000 unique visitors to your site, your conversion rate would be 1%
