Does device fingerprinting work?

Hi,

I've been researching the topic of device fingerprinting for quite a while now. Many fellow marketers list fraud protection among the trends and hottest topics for 2017.
There are quite a few solutions out there that have already gained solid investments, like, SiftScience (30mln), Signifyd (19 mln), Forensiq and Distill (don't know exactly how much). There are strong contendors (like fraudhunt.net) that cater to a smaller segment of the audience.

But there are very few recent articles that touch upon device fingerprinting efficiency.

So my question is - has any of you guys actually tried device fingerprinting or other anti-fraud solutions? Has it worked well for you? Got fewer bots on your website?
