How do your conversion rates stack up against your competitors? Have you heard about A/B testing, landing page optimization, and conversion rate optimization and more importantly have you put these into practice? Thanks Warriors to update me. |

Conversion Rate Optimization is a collection of many things. There is page Optimization, and there is site optimization. I think above all else Navigation is the most over looked element in Site Optimization. If you are selling a product, from the time a customer lands on your site, REGARDLESS of where they land, the possibility of being on a point of purchase page should be no more than 3 clicks away. You are of course ahead of the game if the landing page is intended for just that selling of a product. So looking at a main page... a customer should be able to identify a category of interest ( 1 click ) then an item of interest ( 2 clicks ) and from here press the buy now button ( 3 clicks ) you can go to any online retailor and try this for yourself. Be it Walmart ,tigerdirect, the gap or even amazon. The moment this pattern is broken due to unclear navigation your Conversion Rate suffers! Sure there will be those that suffer through finding what they want, but a great majority of users will leave the site, and move to a site that is easier to buy with. Then you get to single page optimization. There have already been some great shares pointing towards some great articles on the subject. The 2 that really grabbed my attention were: The Most Entertaining Guide to Landing Page Optimization You'll Ever Read and on that page as well is a link to a e-commerce version ( be for warned this is a direct link to a PDF file, and not a website ) The Smart Guide to Ecommerce Landing Pages All of the things that are spoken about with Conversion Rate Optimization are all pieces of the puzzle. You could A / B test a landing page to its most effective point, but if other elements getting the traffic to that page are failing, the system as a whole will fail. Its all a synergistic system. One element will affect the next and the next and the next. |

Conversion rate optimization is the process of optimizing your sponsored search ads, landing pages, and overall website design to raise your conversion rate. In other words, the goal is for the highest possible percentage of visitors to your site to convert, or complete your desired action.

I do A/B testing a lot on my landing pages to increase conversion rates. Its like the heart of the whole system. The higher the conversions the more profit you get. |
