Need advice on best way to get info during payment

Hi,
I'm offering a service on my Wordpress blog that requires a customer to provide me with extended information before I can process their order. I'm not sure of the best way to do this.
Do I use a form to collect this information BEFORE I send them to PayPal? or,
do I present the form on my 'Thank You' page following payment?

Whats the best practice for this type of thing?

My biggest concern is if someone uses a different email address on the form than their PayPal email. This could cause me a lot of confusion trying to work out if someone has paid or not and which service they have bought.

Also, is there any way I can integrate an 'eMail Subscription' into this process?

Any advice anyone can give me on integrating PayPal with wordpress without using a cart but collecting extended information would be really appreciated.

Btw, I do have SSL on my site so any solutions that need this is okay.

first, you can add your external information need after payment is done, but you should state this before making the payment and/or on your product description... cause of this customers will be forced to give additional information after making the payment.
