Hi, I have created 7 campaigns till now on facebook ads using power editor and news feed ad as the ad type but i barely get any %CTR! , I always get very low %CTR like 0.076% 2,621 Views and only 2 Clicks! and i am sure that my ad copy and image are very good also i am sick of the facebook targeting it's not like google where you can simply target specific keyword and get very targeted traffic but in facebook you just put the interest! very very broad! is there a way to target specific keywords in facebook like google? Please if anyone knows a good strategy to get high %CTR share here |

I follow Jon Loomer @http://www.jonloomer.com/ because he has the most comprehensive Facebook how-to blog I've ever seen. More than likely, your targeting is way off and your ad is not serving a purpose or solution to the user. |

Which kind of ads are you using on Facebook? are you talking about News Feed Ads or Right Hand Side? That is also essential to understand why you have such a low CTR (obviously together with all the reasoning about Creatives and Copy)

Please do not make the final decision that newsfeed ads are not converting as otherwise you would miss on a money train! Newsfeed ads have been responsible for almost 67% of my earnings on facebook so far.. As others have pointed out, without knowing what exactly were you doing, we all would be just speculating! |

Hi SerpPower, Facebook advertising is a completely different animal from SEM, and as such it requires a very different strategy to get the most out of it. Facebook advertising is SMM (Social Media Marketing) and the difference is much more that just a another channel with different targeting options. SMM requires a completely different approach to marketing. In the past advertising methods were generally grouped into to 2 categories, Brand advertising, and Response advertising. Brand advertising targets prospects at the top of the purchasing funnel to get more people into the funnel, Response advertising targets people at the bottom of the purchase funnel, where they are ready to buy today. There has always been a 3rd type of marketing that was never considered "advertising" until the rise of social media websites. Social marketing has been around for centuries, it has been called Relationship marketing, Business networking, or the good ol' boy network. It's all about establishing a direct relationship, getting to know your audience, engaging with, and building trust. It is only after accomplishing these objectives can you get the most effective results from marketing to a social network. Even after building your social network following you must realize that your network will only amplify the value, or lack thereof, of your offer. They are like a bullhorn that amplifies your voice, You must still deliver value in your offer that is clear to your audience, else you efforts will fall flat. It sounds to me like you are trying to just skip to the end and get sales without ever building an audience that values and trusts you. That is probably the least optimized method of marketing in a social network. Part of the process of SMM is discovering what it is that your audience wants, what they respond to positively. That knowledge building phase is key to optimizing and fine tuning your marketing message. |

Well if it ain't working then the bait is bad. You may like crisps but whales may hate them. If you want to land a Whale, you've got to give what Whales want! Your job is to come up with what your target audience wants. That never changes. Best, Ewen |

You have way too small of a sample size to determine if your results are typical. Expect CTR of 0.12% on FB.

One thing I have played with and use quite often is location specific targeting. Just change up the ad and the landing to make it appear a bit more location specific. | |

I had the same problem as Ahmed. The post I promoted on Facebook had low number of clicks and only a few likes. And the Latinos were the only ones that liked the post. Strange. Good thing I only paid $5. I couldn't have imagined spending hundreds.

News Feed ads works for me.It depends on what type of targeting and offer you provide. It is quiet cheaper than that of right hand side ads.But as it is my view.

Joey, Your site needs a lot of work. Facebook and Social Media are not a good fit for your niche IMHO. This is better left for Text ads with Google. If you are paying for Facebook Likes you are probably wasting money. If you are doing Clicks to Website your website is not very convertable as it needs a makeover. Ahmed, Cannot give accurate advice without knowing your advertising strategies, targeting tactics and seeing ad copies. |
