I am looking for a copywriter in the Internet Marketing niche.
This project is for a sales page , a one time offer, affiliate resource page and a set of auto-responders. I would like to have a copywriter with experience in the IM niche and with some clickbank number 1's . Any recommendations .... What price should i expect to pay. I had in mind $3K is that realistic ? |

$3k for some Clickbank #1's is not realistic.
I've got a busy workload... Feel free to PM me about your product, if we think we're a good fit we can take it from there. -Scott |

Hi Sarah,
For $3000 you should be able to find a decent copywriter but maybe not someone with Clickbank No. 1s. You're welcome to PM me. |

$10k+ for the salesletter. You might get the OTO or affiliate page for free if you're lucky, otherwise another few $k. And another few $k for the autoresponders. Although CB#1 doesn't necessarily mean a great deal, it IS a badge of honor and you're going to pay good money for someone who wears it. Think about it... a CB#1 in the IM niche translates to what, $50k - $100k in a few days, maybe more? Plus the lifetime value and ongoing momentum that kind of exposure gives you. You can't seriously expect to pay $3k for those kind of results. | |

Offline Consulting: Liz - $12,000 her first month... Anthony - $7000 + $594 per month... {Confidential} - BIG up-front and $1000+ per month... Scott - $45,000 in 3 months! Don't you deserve the same unfair advantage they do? |

Hey Sarah, here's how it works for most good copywriters:
1. You generally pay 50% up front, and 50% on completion. Paying something up front ensures you get a decent copywriter, as nobody who is serious about writing copy is going to rely on royalties or commissions to get paid, and leaving the 50% until completion gives the writer incentive to finish on time and with a great product. 2. I usually quote clients around 2 weeks for a standard project. Less than that can be done, however I do place a high value on having a couple of days to let the copy 'sit' and come back to it refreshed. It really is kind of like putting it in a decanter However if there is a lot of material for the writer to go through and learn, if they have to watch 27 DVDs and listen to 30 CDs and read 400 pages (and if they're not going to do this then they can't really produce the best result for you) then it's going to take longer. And on your price point, I've been around for a while, and I've had fantastic results for my clients, tens of thousands of dollars in sales a month on and offline. Yet I'm not a 'household name' sl I don't ask for $15k a sales letter, a lot less in fact, but still you're running a tight margin if you have a hard $3k budget. There are probably quite a few copywriters like me, excellent copywriters still up-and-coming, who aren't charging all that much. Having a clickbank #1 on your record sounds like a great result, and copywriters fees are based on their client's great results. But to me it does sound like a bit of hot air, for a start there is a lot more to a clickbank product's results than the sales letter. (though all important of course) Whoeever you look at to write your copy, should have real, specific, results based testimonials they can send you in about 2 minutes, and they should be able to point you to some recent work they've done. I'd love to send you some of this stuff if you PM me Sarah.

Hi Sarah,
A #1 on Clickbank in the IM niche is a six-figure producing sales piece which is the same as a six-figure producing sales piece using any other payment processor or method IMHO. A six-figure or seven-figure producing copywriter doesn't work cheap because they have a strong enough portfolio to command $3-10K (or more) just for the sales letter portion of your project. Anyone with that type of track record may be booked weeks or months in advance (I'm usually booked for 4-6 weeks out). If you want to launch in October then you need to make a decision soon. Otherwise, it's a choice between delaying your launch to work with the copywriter you want to or choosing a less busy copywriter. Your best bet is to read one of the copywriter recommendation threads or do some research on your own. Find a copywriter that has the writing style you like, meets your track record/success record criteria, and contact them directly. Many copywriters accept a 50% deposit to book your project and the balance due once the project is ready to be delivered. Others require payment in full up front. Depends on the copywriter. A project like yours, I would probably quote 4-6 weeks to complete it from the start date. But part of my reputation is not producing copy quickly... it's producing high-quality sales copy which is a very time-consuming process. NDA... depends on your preference and needs. Most copywriters probably wouldn't have a problem signing one. Hope that helps, Mike |

For $3k, you could probably get a decent copywriter to write
your sales copy. (sales copy alone!) But if you're looking for a sales page, an OTO, affiliate resource page and a set of auto-responders for that amount, you're asking for too much. Even before you decide on how much to pay for copy, I'd suggest you take a look at your marketing system first. The big marketers don't hesitate to pay even $10k or more for copy because they have the resources and contacts to turn $10k into $1 mil. You should also plan your approach in the same way. There's no sense in paying $3k for copy without knowing how to make full use of it. Hope this helps, Dean |
