Default Need to have my page re-done

Not sure if this is the right forum

I am told by several people that my current page is not setup to sell anything. I get about 300-500 people a day to this page. I am looking for some expert to re-write this for me.

The page is about a software (look at my signature)
You will show me a sample that you have done for a software sales page. Let's talk.

Hey,

I'd recommend reading this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/copywrit...er-thread.html

The people you've talked to are right. It's going to need a lot of reworking. Good job on at least having something up though, that's much more than most do.

Things that you could provide us so you get better responses are:

*Budget
*Current ratio of buyers to visitors
*Your deadline

Budget - 200 dollars
Ratio - About 10% people download the software.
Deadline - 1-2 weeks.

This page has thousands of backlinks on internet, by the way.

Not trying to sound like an ass...

You have 300-500 uniques a day... 10% download, what percent BUY?

Let's just say you have 400 uniques a day... And a new sales letter gets your conversions up to 2%. (Sales, not downloads.)

You're at $37 right now, 2% conversions would be 8 sales a day, which is $297 a day, which is just shy of $9,000 a month.

3-5% conversions isn't unrealistic, so you'd be looking at potentially $20k-$30k a month or more.

No copywriter who is capable of selling this is going to touch it for $200. I'm not insulting your budget, but it's the truth.

You really want to trust your business to a "copywriter" who would work for $200? Most copywriters worth their salt will charge more than double that just for an hour of consultation.

Copywriting that gets results is pretty rare, and it's in high demand. You may want to re-think what you're really trying to accomplish here.

If you want a $20k+ a month business a $200 copywriter won't get you there.

Good luck,

-Scott

P.S. I've used the software, it's fantastic.

10% is a really good number. Unless you're spending an outrageous amount on marketing, you should be making quite a good ROI.

While I can't offer my services for such a low price, I'll give you a few pointers gratis.
  • Put together a 60 second long video showing just how easy and powerful the software is
  • Create a headline that shows how easy the software is to use - and how it can save the user hours every week
  • Use bullets (like these) to show the benefits of using your software versus someone else's
  • Speak to the user using plain (not jargon) language

This is a very basic list of things you can do, but it will help dramatically.

^^^ Sheda's post was much more helpful than mine... That's all great advice, especially a video overview.

OK, you've got me curios, so I looked it up.
2 days ago, this page was visited 217 times (95% people used the right keywords), and got 23 downloads - I will have better idea about the sales of this page after 2 weeks...when 3 day trial is expired and people want to use the software.

Now..about your comments above. Well, I want to pay for the work, and the work should not be dependent on how much money is made out of that work. Do you return the money if sales are not up? I work full time...they pay me by hour....and my pay is not dependent on company's profits...so I am not sure why you want to tie the payment with number of sales.

..and from what you are saying...it seems like you charge 400 dollars an hour...well...there is no way that I can give you that without any kind of commitment from your side. I am not trying to build a partnership here...I am just trying to get some work done.

The price we charge isn't really "dependent" on how much money you make. Scott was just pointing out how much an effective campaign can bring you.

Based on the immense monetary value that a good copywriter can provide, don't you think that they would charge quite a bit?

Sure, you can find a copywriter in your price range that can do the job. The chances of them being able to write copy that actually sells though - VERY little.

When your budget is this low, I always recommend you try to write the copy yourself. You can then hire a good copywriter to give you a detailed review of your letter. This review will give you all the information you need to turn your letter into a rockstar.

It may be a tough skill to learn, but when you can pump out a letter that pulls in millions, you'll be thankful you did it.

I don't get paid by the hour. I get paid based on the value I provide.

And if you consider sales copy a commodity, or manual labor, then you're missing the bigger picture.

There are guys who get paid $25k + royalties to write a single sales letter... And they turn down clients left and right, they get to pick and choose who they work with, because when they write a sales letter it makes a lot of money.

This isn't a job you want to just farm out to the lowest bidder... Your sales copy is a HUGE part of your business, and if you price shop for a copywriter you get what you pay for.

Anyway, good luck. The software is good, I'm sure you'll do fine with it.

-Scott

OK. I really have no idea how much it should be then. Please give me an idea so that I can make an educated guess.

Based on the numbers that Scott gave earlier, I'd look at $3,000+ for a copywriter. Don't go less though.

OK, thank you.

I will wait couple of more months before I can afford this. Software used to be free, and only couple of weeks ago, I started charging.

and Scott, I never meant to make you angry. I just had no idea how much this job goes for. Think of me as jungle boy who just saw a BMW and wants to trade that with his donkey :-)

I'm not angry at all. I'm just trying to help you understand why (effective) copy costs what it does.

Good luck,
