Default What Font Is Used With Those Graphic Headlines?

Hi,

I keep seeing these sales letters that use a graphic for the headline.

Could anyone tell me what font they use? I think I could add the shadow and highlighting myself with photoshop - just can't figure out what font it is.

Here's an example:

Thanks!

Thanks Brian.

So, what program was used to make it look so snazzy?

I did the graphic above in Fireworks in about 5 minutes, but Photoshop is basically the same deal.

I've attached the PSD & PNG if that'd help.

Thanks - I'll have to try and figure out how to do it with Paint.net

Hey Max:

Brian is on the right track. I've been doing this forever with headlines and subheads and it's only just recently people started asking me about it.

What I am using right now is Helvetica LT Std (Bold and Black Condensed) for eye-catching headlines (and sub heads) and Garamond for the majority of our body copy.

Here are some examples:

I love using this same tactic with subheads too. The Italic look of the subheads, with them all leaned over like that, just drags peoples eyes across them. It's really jumped up our conversions.

Hope this helps,

E

Hey Erik.. good to see you here. If anyone is qualified to tackle the topic of headline graphics it's you, bro!

Awesome. LT Std eh? Thanks. I'll have to snag that one.

In general, I like Georgia for body copy in serif type and Tahoma or Verdana for sans-serif body copy.

Erik, that was such a hot design, btw. You and Mike really rocked that letter. I loved the way it looked.

Awesome to have you jump in on this one, Erik. Don't be a stranger.
