Hello fellows, I'm a bit stuck here: What I need for my sales letter is a small real-life story that demonstrates how, if you don't fall into the trap of pushing harder and harder and instead just step back for a while and analyze the situation, you will find out the "magic trick" behind a success -- and how, once you have that trick figured out, success becomes as easy as tieing your shoe laces. An epiphany moment, where the "small guy" outfoxes the system by using his mind, so to speak. Anyone have an idea what situation I could use for such a story? The best example I found is from David DeAngelo's Mastery Program sales letter. I enclose it below. Thank you for any ideas! Once I have found a story, I'll be happy to share it here. Best, Leo --- Excerpt from David DeAngelo's "Mastery Program" Sales Letter: Have you ever been to a county fair or a carnival? |

Why do you have to stick to "true?" Just come up with believable fiction characters [using a common first name is a great give-away for not-true] in believable situations. [edited to delete story - please pm me and I'll be glad to email it to you.] Dot [2nd edit: how about a story of the victim of a playground bully who figured out a way to methodically put the bully in his/her place by thinking hard and tricking the kid? Surely someone has already been-there-done-that.] |

@dorohydot, thank you for sharing your story. (I got it before you deleted it.) I don't necessarily need a true story. What I'm looking for are just some ideas for stories... some settings with a different content but the same framework as the example. That idea of yours about the schoolyard bully is good. I'm looking for more "brainstorm material" like this. Thanks to everybody who contributes! Leo |

Do you know the story of the Brer Rabbit and the briar patch? The rabbit outsmarts the fox and gets him to throw him into the briar patch by saying he's super afraid of it, when it in actuality, he's really familiar with the briar patch and knows it will help him escape. You can read the story here and see if it's what you're looking for or gives you some ideas. Oops - tried to post a link to the story and I don't have enough posting cred. to do that yet, so just go to Google and type: "don't throw me into the briar patch" The story is the first result that shows up. Hope it helps! |
