Default Empathy - the Key to Good Copy

Michael Stuart Kelly found this brilliant video from Jay Abraham on a great method of copywriting using Amazon reviews and titles. Its here in the War Room or

Heard about WPMage? Want some advice on it? I was a beta-tester. PM me Dude.

Used this method for a client recently...he was extremely pleased with it...and it did make the writing process a lot more easy. Good stuff. Jay is the man

Very interesting. I'll throw something else out there. I'm very good at getting top search engine rankings. Very good. I've come to recognize that the key to top search engine rankings is sincerity.

Man, he's sharp!

-It's actually an example of "creative emulation" (his words). Borrowing something and adapting it over to your use.

Also, leverage. Leveraging the money amazon spent. The time and effort spent by customers (reviewers). Pretty sharp.

Yep, Amazon only brought in something like $233 million yesterday.
Must be doing something right.

Good one, M. Le Metro.

"This is infallible" - nice quote near the end.

If I heard him correctly, create a few templates for extracting info in the relevant markets and then hire someone to dig up the data from Amazon?

Cool. Someone could run a WSO around their version of that.

Great lessons in there for sure.

This video demonstrates one reason why John Carlton eagerly apprenticed for Jay early in his career... willing to do grunt work just to be near Jay's brain.

John recently gave me an in-depth lesson on empathy that caused me to shift my thinking about how I approach it in my copy.

I wrote about it on my blog if anyone cares to see it...

Important Lesson on Empathy In Copywriting

Best,
Kevin

Hmm... my mind is racing now.

I watched this video a few months ago and thought it was pure genius then.

Now I'm wondering... would there be a market for a report full of customer phrases pulled from Amazon, for certain niches?

(I can ask, but I know people saying Yes is not always the same as people handing over Money...)

great video, I saw that some time ago. It is so important also to really focus on the fact that people buy on emotion and justify with logic. So you can use both parts of what people say to uncover real reasons behind purchases.

For Jay Abraham fans, try to get your hands on his book "Stealth Marketing". I have a bunch of his books, reports, tapes. But there are a few quotes in Stealth Marketing that really stand. They make you see what he's about in a new light.

(Paraphrasing)

In one of his consultations in the book

"You'll learn that the most powerful things in the world are simple, obvious, understated"

In this copywriting video..

"I thought one day, god, they don't realize they're spending all this money so I can write great copy instantly and you can too". That's genius, to recognize that.

"It's right there and Amazon spent billions of dollars"

"and take out the key phrases that are stimulus".

Brilliant.

Just came across this video. I really like Jay's technique of getting ideas from Amazon. I'm going to try this out with my next project. Thanks for the up!
