Have any of you ever contributed to other websites as a guest blogger? I thought it might be a good way to gain more visibility. Considering, we are talking about a good, professional-looking website that attracts a lot of traffic. Not some obscure destination... ![]() Any thoughts on that? PS: Of course, it should be related to your line of business... Thanks, folks! ![]() Angie |

I've done this a few times and I think it's a great way to get another source of traffic to your site. I was approached by a few different sites to trade guest posts, and I've also had a few different people offer their guest posts for my site. It definitely can't hurt and it gets your name out there as an expert in your field.

I second that. This can't hurt - but rather help. It gives a lot of exposure.

I've guest blogged a couple of times; it's not bad, and you might be seen by a group of people not used to reading your stuff and get visits.

I guest blog for a local marketing institute. It's great for credibility and exposure. But do be wary that it may be a double-edged sword if you are not careful. I once got a feedback from a reader complaining that I made grammatical and spelling mistakes. And she mentioned that these errors may mar a reader's impression. She is right. Now, I proof read and run a spell check on all my guest posts first. Jag |

I've been a guest blogger a few times for various people I know or network with and it's been a good way to generate some extra visitors back to my own site. It's also generated a few good work enquiries and offers too, so it was worth the effort in the end.

Well...looks like there is no downside to it. You never know who might stumble upon your article or tipsheet. The more often you get your name out there and demonstrate your expertise, the more likely you are to attract more traffic to your website. I am guest blogging for a lady who also happens to be a social media maven. She posts links to my articles on twitter, facebook, plaxo and other social media sites. And she has thousands of followers. No downside whatsoever... Thanks for your responses, guys!! |
