Testimonial question

Hi

If the person who gave you a testimonial has a website, should you always put it underneath their testimonial?

For example, lets say you were selling a book about the carpet cleaning business, and you got a testimonial from someone with a website about gardening.

Would you still put their site below, or do you think this would create a little incongruity, or confusion in the minds of your readers?

It's not a question about always, sometimes or never, but whether it's appropriate depending on your marketing medium.

If it's direct mail or just simply offline, it would be best not to mention the URL. If it's online, it's *fine* if you do and it's *fine* if you don't.

In certain conditions, it is imperative that you include a URL, but in others, a URL is not necessary.

So consider your marketing medium, the product/service you are selling and the appropriateness of the URL.

Based on your example, it's *fine* to include it. Good practice though is not making it an active link. Good luck.

As Kevin said above, if you do include a URL you shouldn't make it a live link.

But do you think it gives any credibility? I mean I know it does, but does having a nonrelated niche cross out any credibility.

This way they can see that fred bloggs isnt made up, that he actually has a website, with his name on the front page.
