Hey guys, I'm currently writing a newsletter campaign. Right now its sent out once a week and I will have 52 written so I can have a year long of newsletters to test. I've switched all my articles to push to a landing page for my newsletter. I've increased my newsletter submissions by 300% in the past 2 weeks because of this. I plan on sending out at least 10 newsletter articles before I push my first product Anyways, I have joined quite a few newsletters in my niche and just good marketer's newsletters to see their technique. I'm wondering if anyone has any good sequences to increase sales. Or tips on what builds the relationship quicker. Some newsletters I've noticed talk very professional while others are more laid back and personal. Any evidence which works better? |

| I'm not so sure that your presentation style is as important as the content. I also think it's good that you're going to hold off hitting your list with a pitch for the first 10 issues. I subscribe to very few newsletters these days. But when I do it's because the marketer has already impressed me with valuable information. So once I get the actual newsletter, I need and want to see more of the same, valuable content. And when it comes time to make a decision on the inevitable offer, I probably feel pretty good about giving it a try because, if the marketer has really done a good job of preparing me for the offer, I'm used to getting a lot of good info for free in the newsletter and feel that the paid product will be excellent in light of all the great stuff that came for free. So to answer in just a few words. Give 'em excellent quality info. And if you’re doing that it doesn’t matter whether you speak in a ‘down-home’ conversational style or a strictly-business tone of the consummate pro because either way, the reader knows you’ve got the goods and that’s what people want. Good luck! |

Travelinguy hit the nail right on the head. There's no better way to win over a crowd than with fantastic content. I've used the same tactic for list building extremely successfully. Give away AMAZING content and they will come. It's a win-win. They get content that's going to enrich their lives, and you get their email address to sell to them later on. Just remember the 80/20 rule. 80% real content, 20% sales. If you do less than that, it's even better. |

I rememeber when Claytopn Makepeace first came online I signed yup to his newsletter and was just blown away by the content that he provided. Then a funny thing happened. He offered his first ebook for sale and I bought it right away only to realise that it was a compilation of his past newsletters! So I bought what I already got for free. And, No, I didn't ask for a refund because I thought the information I got from him was worth more that the price he asked. Anyway, I thought to myself how people would buy ANYTHING from you if you prove to them that you are a value provider first. So give your newsletter personality, edge, but moreso info they would gladly pay for. -Ray Edwards |
