Hi!
I've spend a lot of time thinking about what the best way to do the following is: 1. People sign up for mailing list to get freebie 2. Get sent to download page for freebie 3. How to "push" them to buy your one time offer. This is the first try I came up with: http://www.bjarneeldhuset.com/dl/001/001.htm don't try to buy, it's just a test. There's not enough benefits/call to action in it, but I just want your opinion before I spend any more time on it: 1. Will this work? 2. How did it look in your browser? 3. Loading time? 4. What annoys you? 5. What did you like? 6. What would you change? I am thankful for all opinions, and I have thick skin, so give it to me! Regards, Bjarne Eldhuset |

Boring.
Why would people hang around and wait for that Adobe thing to load? To get what they bought. Dial-up people will hate you for using Captivate. I know it's got a click-here gimmick. I wouldn't even run this. Use a letter instead. Less boring. Video of this type slows the selling message to a crawl which causes a loss of MOMENTUM - and upselling is all about momentum. |

I agree with you to some extent, but I should probably note that they do not have to wait for the upsell.
They actually have to wait for the loading bar to finish before they get the freebie they signed up for. Instantly after receiving the freebie, they would be able to see the one time offer, which at the end will forward them to paypal automatically. But as you said, if the download time is to much, they will see neither of those. But then again, this is just an experiment. More opinions are welcome! |

Loren is right. The load time sucks and I wanted to click away, otherwise, use a salesletter.

One time offers are supposed to be quick and dirty, needs a sense of urgency! I could have made a cup of tea waiting for that to load!

Hey, tea is good for you!
![]() I removed the audio, which took the file size from 4,5 mb down to 0,5. But I guess that would still be to much? |

![]() Few are going to stick around for it to load. Just design a 1 page sales letter. They work. And f*ck that adobe flash crap. . . . | |

I didn't care much for it with the music and it's even less appealing without it. I think the offer is good and would be even better displayed on a page where you could click the image and see the site template's actual size.
Video is obviously good for lots of things but not for this. If you were offering a video or audio OTO you might have something. But IMO, it doesn't work well for your offer. Good luck. |

Hmm, dunno - I opened this in a new background tab and it had loaded fully by the time I got there, so the loading time was not an issue for me personally (although I agree that it may put off most of your audience). So well - I'll just make a couple of remarks on the content - issues that might persist even after you make this a one-page HTML sales page, if you choose to.
I'm not sure that the "Click Here" works for me - I see (by the rest of the design) that I'm on a OTO page, so I'd prefer that we get down to it quickly. Further, saying that these templates are exclusive (even if you try to give me the impression that the OTO is exclusively for me - an impression that's rather hard to create, IMO) may not the most intelligent phrasing? To begin with, it's evident that you own them, so that's already non-exclusive, second, you don't claim to have made them, they come from elsewhere, and they probably had other customers... you get the drift. Since I figure that you're saying something whose inaccuracy is immediate to me, my faith in your honesty drops a bit ![]() Also, the $12 drops to $7 - either advertise the fact that it's not even $12, or maintain a consistent pricing - unless I'm missing something, it looks like an error (?). By the way, if you are using the flash only for effect, then consider doing a one page HTML, but line up the images of the templates using a jquery carousel, like here. If I have other nits, I'll be back - that's all that I seem to remember at the moment. Hope this helps, and good luck! Cheers, Avani PS: Looked just fine in my browser, by the way, although some of the controls seemed wonky when I wanted to playback a second or third time. |
