It seems difficult to find legitimate source of Gary Halbert copywriting training... But there is always the Gary Halbert Letter, which he seems to have poured himself into, and its free. Someone has said that with that alone, virtually, one could pretty much learn to become a successful copywriter. I was wondering what copywriters here have learnt and believe you can learn from the GH letter. Are there any particular letters that you would single out as essential. Many thanks BT |

Whenever I am experiencing "copy writers' block" I go over and "waste" an hour at Untitled Document - I always come back with some seed of an idea that I can grow into copy. Edit: Someone should volunteer to fix all the techie problems with the site now, tho..."Untitled Document" link goes to TheGaryHalbertLetter.com. |

My opinion: What made Gary great was his autheniticity. Even down to his days, when he popularized/invented the term "****weasel." (I still giggle like a kid when I hear that.) More importantly than copywriting, more than the fact that he was an entrepreneur's entrepreneur, more than fact he made no bones about making money... He cared about people. As a leader in our community, he left a legacy. - Rick Duris PS: What most people don't know is that not everything Gary touched turned to gold. He was the copywriters' version of Babe Ruth. When it came to his newsletters, they were a labor of love for him. It was like his letters to Bond, while he was in prison. Those are priceless to a marketer/copywriter. |

You should read Gary's letters on 2 levels. First, read what he has to say, and what he's teaching. Then study how he says it. The use of emotion, the buttons he pushes to get a reaction from you and the way he tells his stories. |
