I have recently launched my product and need to get some banners designed. I will not be doing the design myself, but the banner designer needs to know what text he should use. The problem is, I have never had banners created before and could really use some ideas. For those interested, the website I need the banners designed for is Internet Privacy and Identity Protection by IdentityCloaker.com! . It would be probably best if I could find a banner designer who can read/skim the sales letter or the FAQ page and then develop the banner text on their own. Do you know such a banner designer? I will welcome any ideas... Tomas |

Check out the forum toward the bottom of the Warrior Forum home page -- for Programmers, Designers, Writers -- etc. I've forgotten the name. You might also look for designers who offer their services in the WSO forum. |

With Google's new browser, and IE's latest edition, I can't see putting energy into a product like this. But then, maybe there's something I don't know.

Eric, Trust me, there's a LOT you don't know, if you think these issues are solved. I spent 30 or so minutes this morning talking to a security expert at a hosting company, and I have another one as a good friend (who does computer security for the US Government) -- and I can tell you, the depth of this "war" is huge. You have NO idea. |

The Google's browser and IE 8 "privacy" features have *ABSOLUTELY* nothing to do with what my product does. It's not even similar. The privacy modes offered by them only mean that when you enable such mode, no traces are left in the OS registry and no cookies and other possibly personal information are stored on the local PC. But that's all. You still transmit the data over the Internet unencrypted, you still disclose your IP address and physical location, you still cannot access websites that have been blocked before (by government, company or college network admin etc.), et cetera et cetera... I don't really want to make this post sound like a sales pitch but you can't really compare the two things. They do not even compete with each other, they have different purposes. If you want, see the "How it works" and FAQ pages on my website, that should explain the whole thing a bit better. zapseo: Thanks for the tip! I will look there. I haven't visited this forum in a while and there seems to be a lot of new stuff. Tomas |

In that case, I would assume that the people who want the privacy you speak of would understand your headline and bullets?

Honestly, if you recently launched your product and really thinking about marketing online for the next coule of years or so, I would be a great idea if you learn how to make a banner yourself. Spending money "paying" someone to make a banner for you, instead of doing it yourself would eventually add up. So its best if you take the time to learn how to make one, which would probably take some time but once you learn it, you'll know how to make one forever =) Check out the Jasc software Its what I've been using for creating banners and editing pictures and such =) Cheers, |

Actually, the "privacy" modes in the new IE 8, or Firefox (with some extension) and Identity Cloaker perfectly complement each other. While the privacy mode in the mentioned browsers make it impossible for your wife to see any traces on the local PC that you were visiting some porn...ehm...I mean adult, websites, Identity Cloaker makes it impossible for the company/college network admin, ISP, government, hacker...or skilled wife... see that you very visiting those adult pages in the network logs as it will not appear there. And if for example visiting those adult websites is technically impossible because the network admin, ISP etc. banned access, Identity Cloaker allows you to circumvent such technical measures. Once the secured tunnel between your PC and one of my protected private proxy servers is established, you gain the very same access privileges as that server. So if visiting somepornweb.com is banned by your ISP but not banned by my server, you can visit it through it because my proxy server acts as the middle-man. The basic functionality is similar to standard proxy servers, but it's combined with technology commonly called "SSH tunneling" and "OpenVPN Virtual Private Network" which results in several advantages - i.e. the data transmitted between your PC and the "middle-man" server is encrypted by a military class cipher, it can circumvent restrictions set on the firewall level and there are more advantages. It's really not a product you would come accross everyday, the less on these forums. I am not a marketer (if such a word exists), I am a former IT specialist. Sjcorp: Yes, I know Paint Shop Pro by Jasc Software (now Corel) and I have been using it for a long time. I also have Xara Extreme installed. I used PSP to create the illustrations on my website because it would be way too difficult to explain any web designer how they should look like. So yes, I can create simple images and possibly banners myself. But the difference in quality would be remarkable, not to mention it would take me at least 10x longer to make a banner than what a professional banner designer needs. Considering you can get one banner designed for around $15 these days, that would be hellish ineffective I think. I need to leverage the work. I need to focus on the parts that are not easily outsourced. Tomas

Well, gee. If someone's going to push banner creating software, you should check out BigMike's GFX Writer. (I'm a reseller -- if you're interested, pm me and I'll give you a link to my reseller page. But even if not, it's still a great product.) Of the stable of some 20 plus products of BigMike's that I resell -- it's definitely the one that I sell the most of. Live JoyFully! You may already be past this and already have ideas, but the graphic you have on your page is really cute and creative. I, personally, invision (sp?) something like that when I hear "Identity Cloaker" so if it were me, I'd certainly include that graphic. As to text, I'm a factual/journalistic writer rather than a sales copy writer so I hesitate to offer that kind of advice, but I'd play on the idea of secrecy, hiding from "predators" - that kind of thing. God bless... Dee

Dee: Thanks for the suggestions! I am glad that you like the logo. It's not made by myself except for a small color modification. I haven't ordered the banners yet but plan to do so today or tomorrow, finally. So far I thought of texts such as "Someone spying on you? Feeling being watched? Surf anonymously protected by a Military class cipher!". It's probably too lame. I will keep improving it for a while. Suggestions are always welcome so keep them coming ![]() Tomas |

OK, I've recently ordered some banners from a professional designer and he wants me to send him some comments. I've already send a few but would like to hear more opinions. Here is the sample banner: http://www.identitycloaker.com/banne...ker-728x90.gif The comments I sent were: 1) The animation should be somewhat slower, longer pause between frames would probably be a good idea. Mainly the pause before and after the "Someone may be watching..." sentense should be longer. 2) The man in the right bottom corner should portray a "bodyguard" I suppose. I believe it would look better if he had more "secret agent" look. The current one looks just like an ordinary man. Sunglasses could be a good start. 3) I think the banner is a little bit too colorful, although the change in this area should be probably just a relatively small one. 4) The red background looks as if it could use a wider color spectrum. The visible pattern interferes with the text (especially with the smaller font text). However, this may be due to the .gif format limitations. What do you think from the affiliate/Internet marketing perspective? Would people click the banner? As always, any ideas are welcome! Tomas |
