Arrow A Killer Lurks - and Presents An Opportunity?

With so much killer copy, so many killer products and e-mails appearing almost on a daily basis, I’m just wondering if cyber space is occupied by the likes of Al Cojone, Machine Gun Belly and Jack The Slipper.

If this is the case, what are the chances of making money by setting up as a virtual undertaker?

I tried offering a very special salve to all those who’ve suffered the indignity of being kicked in the rear by copy and products, it didn’t sell. I suspect Al and his buddies have got their eyes on that market and are frightening the customers.

Oh well, there was no salvation with salve and if there is to be no undertaking, does anyone have any other ideas?

I'll take a "stab" at what you might be asking for: Finding a niche in an overcrowded market ....of people marketing products about marketing products to people who want to sell products about marketing?

There's so much inbreeding going on I'd think a market for four-lensed eyeglasses and six-arm sweaters would be hot about now.

I get some of the people who've bought the best, and come up empty. The problem isn't the products, it's the lack of targeting on their part.

Study Joe Polish. He took the generic marketing materials -- the same ones everyone else bought -- and applied it to carpet cleaning. And then sold to carpet cleaning companies marketing and copy products specifically tailored to (and proven to work for) carpet cleaning businesses.

Because guess what. Nobody wants to go through the trial-and-error of applying generic marketing materials except the inbreeds who never intend to customize and apply them.

IM is not a niche. Information? Guys & gals, that's a world wide phenomenon, not a niche. It's an information age. You might as well be selling air. Or sell stone in the stone age. Besides not one of these people has any idea of what information is. There is no IM -- it's Get Rich Quick spelt different.

Weight loss is not a niche. It's a multi-billion dollar industry. Selling weight loss products targeted at smokers who don't want to gain a ton when you stop smoking ...that would be a niche.

And that's the secret. Think. Work. I doubt it's a secret about to get out anytime soon.

When I made this post I was feeling lightheaded and I'm not sure I was really asking anything. Doesn't matter, I enjoyed your response and I found the links you included to be very interesting.

My thanks John
