Lightbulb How to Approach Copy/Website Revision for Brochure Site

Hi There,

If you have a reference/link or guide you recommend on copy specific to brochure sites or expensive services please let me know!

This is a really tricky one I've been trying to figure out. I have a brochure website I'm going to be working on for both copy and marketing purposes. The main purpose being to get the point across effectively to the right market and making people aware of and fully understanding the service being offered.

However I've only had experience with writing copy/promoting Info or physical products... but never a service such as this or on a brochure site for that matter. Especially considering its a fairly expensive service that is about $2500+ per person and a great deal of visitors will know little to nothing about it, so the site will lean fairly heavily on an info/sales format.

I understand all the concepts of Copy, promoting the benefits, focusing entirely on the niche target market, providing proof/testimonials. All of which I plan on doing and isn't quite the problem I'm having.

My problem is that I'm a little hesitant to change the entire site format into one long copy as is typical with info products and most forms of Copy I've studied and am familiar with.

So I'm curious do you guys think I can effectively promote a service such as this by maintaining the current brochure site format? How would you approach it? Any suggestions on information specific to writing copy for a brochure site promoting a service?

Here's the site Ibogaine & Iboga | Ibogaine Treatment | Detox Center

Thanks for any help in advance!

This site is problematical in a number of ways. I made a screencast
video talking about ways to improve it. It's a quickie - but in a nutshell
the site is probably selling at a fraction of it's potential due to a flawed
approach.

What about setting up A/B split test showing different versions to different people and see which has the best results?

Thanks for the Critique Loren, I couldn't agree more with your points. I wasn't the original designer and I definitely know there are quite a few major changes that need to be made.

I also hear you on the 2 step system. That was my plan. I was thinking of having a very obvious sign up box as in "Interested in trying Iboga?" Sign up here to find out how, or something of that nature to at least gather emails. While also providing VERY obvious contact info after the initial sell on the benefits.

Ya I don't intend to have direct sales from the copy but to have them somehow get in contact with our Shaman directly. At least I figure I'll answer all the potential objections, really hit home the benefits and try to figure out exactly who the target market is that is really going to make the trip out here. ie. Addicts, Spiritualists, hippies...

Would you suggest the main landing page have more of a info product type of copy style approach or do you think for this type of website it would seem overly pushy or wouldn't seem right? ie. header, sub header, opening, bullets etc.

I'm actually in Costa Rica at the Iboga House as I write this out boiling in this sweltering heat. I just came back from the Iboga ritual going on tonight for a gentlemen who is going through some serious detox, I'm lined up to do mine tomorrow night so maybe the experience itself will give me greater insight to all the answers I need

Thanks again, I'm very thankful to get a straight to the point insightful perspective from someone who understands what Iboga is about and a good deal about copy as well!
