In your URL and in your head copy you aren't
hitting the most powerful trigger for gold buyers:

SAFETY.

Investing in Gold is serious, serious business. I
would treat it that way if I wrote the copy.

Hi Joel,

I would explain right at the start how there is no safe haven except gold. I would tell the reader that his cash could disappear completely, that currencies can lose all value, etc. Then I would explain that gold has kept it's value for thousands of years, and that gold is a time tested safe haven for investors.

Hope this helps.

Paul

thanks for the comments guys. awesome stuff.

Youre bringing up what I had a tough time deciding.

In the end, my idea was that everyone going to this page would have clicked on an ad that prescreened their interest in buying gold.

So in my mind I figured they were already sold on the idea of buying gold,(which im not actually selling), but just explaining how to do it, which is the tough part for most people.

I do hear where your coming from - maybe I should hit on it a bit harder. I just know that every time you hear someone mention gold it goes into these (what most would consider) boring abstract lectures about "gold having no counterparty risk" blah blah blah and i dont want to lose them. Maybe im wrong.

I do have "protection" in my headline and header 2 times (but maybe i should find a way to use "safety" and I could have a short paragraph reinforcing the gold safety issue i just dont want to get bogged down in boring mode.

Considering what ive said, what do you guys think? Im willing to be wrong here.

Thanks so much for the comments,

Joel

The dominant motive with Gold investors is Fear - or so
I have read and heard from people who sell to them -
fear of losing what they have.

Fear of losing what you have is a fixation of a certain
stage in life where people, as a group, become easier
to sell not on what they can Gain but what they can
do to avoid Losing their wealth, health, homes, and
families.

The operative concept becomes Preservation. You should
be reading Gary North's Reality Check newsletter -
because it goes to that target market.

Okay alright already Loren.... you beat me into submission on this one. I completely changed my headline and subhead and i think youre right- its a lot better and this will pull so much better, i think.

tell me if you think its enough fear mongering? You know i almost think i didnt want to take your suggesting because i felt it was kinda alarmist- thats officially out of my system now, dont worry. i feel kinda dumb about that.

tell me what you think everyone?

Thanks so much for the help.

great. try split-testing the new version against
the old one and see what pulls in more sales.

That's the only way to know for sure.

The thing is that it seems to me the new headline is so much more compelling than the old one, shouldnt I test other things first?

New Headline (subheads on go on but you get the idea):

WARNING:
Recession, Inflation, and Economic Crisis Will Financially Ruin You - Unless

Old Headline:

Amazing 45 Minute
Gold Protection Guide
Will Make You Laugh In The Face of Economic Crisis and Money Worries...

What do you think? Thanks again Peter and Loren.

hmmmm.... im going to consider some of this. i like the "one place to hide," "economic meltdown," and "not just survive but..."

this seems like stuff worth working into mine or doing some testing with.

Great stuff! Thanks

ALSO.... WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE WORDING OF "WILL cause you Financial ruin...compared to...."CAN cause you financial ruin"?

Is WILL too strong of a word? consider that all of these people have already clicked on an ad that showed theyre already interested in gold.

Thanks for the advice guys...keep it coming!

Joel

PS if anyone wants my book just PM me or mention it in the post... please.
