Lightbulb How what I learnt on Warrior Forum got me loads of dates

Hello, and apologies for the strange and rambling nature of my first post on here but I thought it might give you a laugh and show how some of the sales techniques gleaned from the forum can be translated to other areas. Namely for me....getting lots of dates! This isn't too brag; I'm keenly aware there isn't anything particularly amazing about me and I'm certainly not tall, rich (yet right!) or particularly good looking. But I am good at research. And really it was just some simple things that I learnt from lurking on the boards for a little bit that got me results.

And those results? I did nothing besides put up the profile and pics, sent no first contact messages (ie, they messaged me first) and in less than a week of being online I've had 80 different women email me and 43 add me to their favorites list. And by the sound of some of the emails you'd think I was the next coming of brad pitt. Or Jesus. Or you know, someone really special!

Now granted these aren't mindblowing numbers, but from I've heard from other guys, it can be pretty hard to get women's attention on dating sites for the simple reason that women get so much attention themselves that it's hard to break through the clutter.

First off a quick introduction, my name's David, and I'm a graphic designer/art director by trade. After a few years in the online gambling industry working for a very large controversial site (that is now about to go belly ups - any guesses?) I struck out with my partner about 6 months ago to develop our own PR agency.

Anyway...back to the nature of the thread. Getting dates online. It really seems the bar is set so low on these sites if you put even a modicum of effort into your profile, you can really reap the rewards. So here's my headline and profile.

Top 5 Reasons why you might like me

hello! And thanks for checking out my profile. If any of what I say happens to make you smile, want to cuddle with me, or slap me please don't hesitate to send me a note!

1. NOT A DOUCHEBAG: ok, ok, i know the profile picture would make you think the opposite. BUT, I can at least promise I won’t message you with an opening line containing any combination of baby, sexy, sweetie (you are welcome to do this to me though). I also won’t mention feet in any way. Apparently, there’s a sizable contingent of foot fetishists on POF?

2. CUDDLE BUNNY: I’ll hold your hand, I’ll snuggle with you, we'll do romantic stuff. Really when you dig deep into my little heart, there’s a little glowing bunny rabbit shaped core of affection and sweetness.

3. I'M A MAN (kinda): Find it annoying when the princess you’re going out with takes longer than you to get ready, blowdries/straightens his frosted hair, steals your razer to shave his armpits and legs, gets pedicures, smells like he bathed in cologne, plucks his eyebrows, or plans his Monday night around Gossip Girl?
Ok, I don’t do any of that stuff (except one of them – ha!).

4. MY DOG: He's gorgeous. How could you not fall in love with a face like that?

5. I ENJOY LIFE: Ok, cue the cliche but I do love what life has to offer. Some of the stuff I've been fortunate enough to do; diving with whale sharks, swimming with dolphins, done the biggest bungee jump in the world, travelled all over (mozambique is my favourite place so far), coach rugby at a local high school.

So uhm, perhaps we can enjoy life together?

So there you go. That's my profile, and this is my strange way of saying hello to the forum! If there's any interest in this, I'll explain why i wrote the profile the way I did, and how it relates to the forum.

Hmm... I wonder what kind of women respond. Then depending on the answer I might get interested.

You had me at #4. Pooch-love rules!

Seriously, though, it's good copy: Original headline (for this market) humor, empathy, articulates the problems your prospect faces, taps in to a common desire, overcomes unspoken objections with specifics, throws in a little mystery and intrigue, paints a picture of how good life can be with the product, and then offers the product (in a soft-sell, come-get-it way).

Nice work, stud.
